So as we settle in,

I invite us to take a nice,

Deep,

And easy breath.

Allow your body to fill with oxygen from the bottom of your lungs all the way to the top of the lungs and hold it for just a moment like this.

And then sigh it out.

And then let's do that again together,

Collectively breathing in through the nose.

Deep breath in.

Hold the breath at the top and then sigh it out.

As I invite you to notice the air around your body,

Perhaps notice the areas where your body meets the ground,

And perhaps feeling the weight of your body or the pressure.

You might notice tingling,

Any sensation you can notice or identify.

Breathing into that and then gently bringing your awareness in your body.

I invite you to soften any part of the body that might feel tight or a little clingy.

Perhaps you can relax your eyes in the sockets.

Let the face be calm,

The jaw.

Release.

Allow the teeth to separate just a little.

Melt through the sound,

Releasing at the neck and the shoulders.

Sometimes when the shoulders or any part of the body is tight,

It's not a problem.

We can just invite some softening around the edges.

We allow the awareness of where we are to be enough.

It's okay.

So we soften around the heart,

The upper back,

The mid back,

The belly,

The lower back.

I invite you to soften the glutes and the thighs all the way down the legs to the ankles and the feet.

As we further soften,

Feeling the weight of the body on the floor or any place the body is meeting the floor or the chair or the cushion.

As we gently bring our awareness to sound,

Just hearing.

I invite you to allow the sound to come to you.

You don't have to reach out for it.

Allow it to cascade through every bone and muscle and tendon,

Even down to the cells and the space between the cells of your being.

And if your mind is wandering,

That too is not a problem.

It's just what the mind does.

So with kind,

Relaxed awareness,

Gently bring your awareness back to a sound or a pitch or a movement of sound or a harmony.

Settling,

Calming.

Our minds,

Our minds are like the sky.

Expansive and wide and deep,

Vast,

Vast.

And our thoughts are merely like the clouds that pass through the expansive nature of the sky.

They come,

They stay,

They go.

The sky is not bothered by heavy clouds.

Peace.

I invite you to slowly,

Slowly begin to bring your attention and awareness back into your body,

Into the space where you are right now.

Perhaps just feeling once again your body on the cushion,

Or the ground,

Or the bed.

And perhaps being aware of the air around your body,

Above your head,

Below your feet,

In the front and in the back,

And on the sides.

Feeling your body inhabit this space,

Your space.

And as you begin to open your eyes,

If you haven't already,

Perhaps just notice shapes and colors.

And if you'd like,

Perhaps thanking yourself for giving yourself this time.
