Learn to handle your problem the way a surfer rides a wave! We can actually use problems to propel ourselves forward. Viewing the Problem as an Opportunity Unfortunately, problems are still too often viewed as a sign of weakness or something negative. I see problems much more as a source of mental strength; after all, to have a problem, you first have to recognize it and believe that change is possible. That is a valuable resource. Anyone who possesses this ability already has a key skill for working toward change. However, if we kid ourselves into thinking we have no problems and suppress anything difficult, it can turn into an even bigger issue later on—or suddenly confront us in critical situations, such as during a competition, without us having prepared for it. In fact, problems often only arise when we step out of our comfort zone and face tough challenges. So, having a problem actually shows that we haven't just settled into a state of complacency.
