I can't implore the imporance of this enough: practice first before devices and the voices of the world. Your voice matters most. When your mind is tender and rested anew from overnight sleep, you are best served to only allow your own voice to enter first. The voices of the world belong there, out in the world, not in the pure space of your early morning and most impressionable mind. Give it a try, your meditation practice will be potent, not clouded and leave you more confident in your skin.

Hello,

Welcome.

Today's meditation—oh,

Cancel,

Cancel.

Hello welcome.

Today's meditation is entitled Practice First,

Voice of Self.

This is a bit of a teaching,

Maybe imploring words of wisdom to definitely try and aim to practice your meditation before turning on the devices,

Before turning to social media,

Emails,

Texts,

Input from the outer world because then we hear our own voice first.

If we engage with outside dialogue before the voice of our own hits our system first,

Then we're letting others' voices be the louder,

Bigger,

More predominant guiding force in our lives.

So,

Very important to practice meditation in the morning before entering the world and receiving the world into your system.

So come to a comfortable seat and this meditation will be about training the brain to be disciplined enough to not resort to habit and instead tend to self first.

We have a culture of always on,

Reach for the phone,

Check,

Check,

Check,

Feeds,

Feeds,

Feeds.

It's become our new norm and it's stressing us out.

So choose otherwise.

Let your mind be your own.

It is the wisest,

Smartest,

And brilliant mind you have.

Come to your comfortable seat.

Drop in with great ease.

If you feel safe,

You're welcome to close your eyes and we'll begin a five-minute meditation.

Come into your body.

Rest your eyes heavily in their sockets and notice what kind of urgency is coming over you.

The tendency to fidget,

Move,

Reach,

Connect,

Do,

Do,

Do.

Retrain your brain right here to rest,

Release,

And choose your actions deliberately.

Take your time to arrive and tune in to the energy in your belly.

Tune in to any agitation in your heart space.

Tune in to that place in your body where you hold your worries and your fears.

So often we look to the outside to soothe us.

This is fleeting and not sustainable.

Drop into your body.

Become grounded and quiet.

Where did you go?

Find some words to describe your experience and release the wiring in your brain that says reach for something on the outside.

Retrain to stay right here.

It's not comfortable.

This is the meditation gymnasium to rewire your brain.

Stay with it.

Expand your experience,

Noticing how the air feels on your skin.

Notice what you smell.

What do you hear?

Do you see anything?

Notice any tastes?

Relax your body even more so that when an urge or a desire and a longing overcome you,

You pause,

Connect with your breath,

Find ease in your belly long enough to let this desirous urge pass.

And so you choose with wisdom.

Each and every action decision that you make.

Take a big belly breath in and a long and soothing breath out.

Namaste.

Sitting and grounding. Btw, love that you left in the "error" at the beginning. Namaste

Luckily I grew up in a screen-free environment. However, now in my later years I do have a cellphone and an iPad and a desktop computer! They are great tools if used in a wise manner. I don’t always manage that. I enjoyed this meditation. Gracias. ❤️

I love this concept, though I know it won't be easy for me to carry out. Still, surely I can meditate for 5-10 minutes, eventually longer and add some journaling too, before going on to gobble my feeds. Thank you.

So good, so true. Love the mis-beginning -- so real!
