I find gratitude to be an essential part of any meditation practice.
Whether I'm doing the pranayama or different forms of breathing,
I always try to end with a few minutes of gratitude.
And even if you don't do it for a few minutes,
There is this idea that comes from a book I've read about the law of attraction,
That if you're able to hold the vibration or the energy of gratitude and love for 17 seconds,
Just 17 seconds,
That will begin to make big shifts in your life.
So I really recommend at some point in your meditation,
Your daily meditation,
To just spend 30 seconds to a minute of gratitude,
Just really feeling in to what that is for you in your life right now.
You can close your eyes,
Center into the breath.
Gratitude opens us to exactly what is good in our life right now.
It brings us into the present moment,
Into a space where we can invite more of that feeling into our lives.
Think about what you are grateful for in this moment.
What are you grateful for in your health?
What are you grateful for in your career?
What are you grateful for in your relationships?
What are you grateful for in your finances?
I remember going to a talk years ago about your relationship to money,
And she,
Something that stuck with me,
She was like,
Even if you only have five dollars in your bank account,
Be grateful for that five dollars and watch it grow.
Practicing gratitude for what we do have rather than what we don't.
If you have any crystals in your home,
I find that choosing one to be focused on gratitude and to even infuse it with the feelings of gratitude,
To be really useful for me to remind myself to be grateful,
To have a crystal around my home that represents gratitude to me and to hold it sometimes and to tap into that feeling of gratitude.
So you can slowly open your eyes.
I hope this practice was useful for you,
Can integrate it into your life now,
And I hope that it begins to attract exactly what you need and more of what you're grateful for.
Namaste.
