Transcript

Welcome to a breathwork track designed to access the guidance,

Reassurance,

And wisdom from your future self.

You'll want to lie down on your back with either no pillow or a really flat pillow,

Giving an openness to your throat space.

Rest your hands open at your sides,

Relaxing your palms and facing them up,

Ready to receive and really rest.

To begin with,

You're going to zoom all the way in to your breath.

Just notice where in your body you're currently breathing.

Maybe it's through your nose or through your mouth.

Begin to become aware of the small movements in your chest and belly that happen as you breathe.

Consider deepening your breath and just notice how it feels as the air goes in and out of your nostrils or your mouth.

Begin to become aware of those tiny nerve endings that can sense something so small as air.

Notice what happens when you bring your attention there.

And as we zoom into your breath,

Bring that awareness to your body.

Begin to do a scan,

Beginning with the crown of your head,

Traveling,

Noticing how it feels behind your eyes,

Relaxing the muscles of your throat,

Traveling down your neck to your heart,

Inviting ease as you scan out your arms to your fingertips,

Scanning down through your center,

Through your legs,

To the tips of your toes,

Just bringing awareness.

And as we widen this presence of the here and now in your living and breathing body,

I want you to bring to mind your future self.

This self might be 10 or 20 or 50 years in the future.

Just take a moment to visualize this self and see what age you appear to be and really allow yourself to envision the healthiest,

Most prosperous,

Most fulfilled and wise future you.

Notice how you carry yourself at this age.

Notice what qualities are immediately apparent.

Now envision yourself sitting across a table from this future you.

They reach out and take your hand in theirs.

You look down at your hand,

Their hand.

You see the differences,

The leathered skin,

The lines and veins.

Theirs is a hand who has seen so many things that you have yet to see.

You look up from those hands and decide to ask them a question.

You might want to ask,

What do you want me to know?

You might have another specific question coming to mind.

Take a moment and bring to mind what you most want to know from them.

Now that you have your question,

Releasing that vision at the table,

But inviting that future self into this breath practice with you.

Seeing a sacred space of connection opening right here as we begin to connect our breath.

To do this breath work,

You'll want to stay relaxed on your back and you're going to want to open your mouth slightly,

About two fingers width apart.

You'll begin taking breaths in and out of your mouth that are connected,

Gentle and easy.

Your inhale is through your mouth and nourishing.

Your exhale is also through your mouth and really gentle.

A key to these breaths are that there are no pauses at the end of the inhale or the exhale.

So there's no breaks,

They're connected breaths.

Another key aspect of this type of breath work is that it's really easy.

And by that I mean,

You're becoming conscious of your breath,

But you're not putting force into the inhale or the exhale.

It's like making the aha sound with your breath and it sounds a little bit like this.

Now centering that question,

You want to ask your future self and really becoming aware of their presence and beginning to go for connected breath.

Taking these aha breaths,

Beautiful breathing,

Staying with the breath and open mouth,

Gentle and connected.

Letting your body relax as you breathe,

Your face,

The crown of your head,

Your back,

Your root,

Your weight supported by the earth,

Opening to the space of bending time,

A feeling of safety and support growing.

It's safe to come all the way into your body,

To breathe fully and land fully in this moment.

Feeling your vitality in this present day and sensing the way that your future self is guiding you.

You're doing a great job allowing your future self to expand,

Reassure and feed you a nectar of your own wisdom right now.

And just returning to the breath if you wander,

Being so compassionate,

Keeping those breaths connected,

Gentle,

The exhale is just a letting go.

We have a few more minutes left to breathe,

So just meeting anything that has arisen with curiosity,

Re-centering your question or intention,

Feeling a wisdom and clarity growing.

Listening to what's arriving for you,

What wisdom or messages are coming through,

A few more really deep nourishing inhales,

Gentle letting go exhales.

And then either staying with this breath as the track ends,

Staying with it as long as it feels good,

Or surrendering this open mouth ah-ha breath and returning to a natural way of breathing.

You can gently roll onto your side and give yourself a squeeze.

You can curl up right here and just feeling a connection to your ancestors and your past,

Your future self,

The generations that will follow you,

Putting a loving hand on your heart and feeling such gratitude and love pouring through time,

This loving witness of your future self right here,

Right now,

Seeing you in all of your vitality,

Possibility and innocence,

Thanking that future self and releasing them,

Landing fully back in this moment,

This version of yourself,

This part of your life.

May the power of your breath anchor you into this moment in time while also showing you the deep well of wisdom you possess.
