I want to invite you to get comfortable wherever it is you might be sitting or lying,

Relaxing your hands by your sides,

Gently open,

Becoming aware of your breath,

Remembering that there is no wrong way to breathe,

Though you might want to deepen it,

Relax your belly just a bit as you really land in your body,

Noticing that body,

Doing a scan from your feet to your legs to your root,

Up through your center,

Out your arms,

Up through your heart,

Through the crown of your head,

Just noticing,

Becoming aware of any sensations,

Welcoming in all these parts of you,

In this vehicle of a body that has taken you so many places and has brought you right here to this moment,

And as we become aware of this body house,

Going to your mind's eye and envisioning roots growing from your root down,

Down through your feet,

Through the space that you're in,

Into the crust of the earth,

Burrowing deeper and deeper,

Through all of the life,

Through the clear waters,

The molten lava,

Traveling deeper and deeper,

To the core of mother earth,

Mamagaya,

Feeling those roots find purchase in that core,

And traveling down them and finding yourself in a spacious,

Cavernous,

Beautiful place,

Noticing this cavernous space,

Actually abundant with life,

Lush green flowers and plants,

Vines winding around the stalagmites and stalactites of this cavern,

The feeling of being held surrounds you in the belly of mother earth,

And in this space,

You see a swing set empty and decide to sit down on it,

Winding your hands around the soft ropes interlaced with vines,

And you begin swinging,

With every breath,

You feel yourself swinging higher and higher in this beautiful,

Safe cavern,

Noticing for the first time that there is a sky in this place,

A miraculous sky full of clouds,

You notice the colors of these clouds as they billow by,

Feeling yourself swinging with the air,

Going through your hair and through your toes,

Like a child full of wonder,

At this place that you have found,

And as you watch these clouds,

You notice,

They are not just clouds,

These clouds actually represent your thoughts,

Your beliefs,

Your ideas about yourself,

About the world,

Or just about your day,

You see them travel by,

You don't judge them,

As each thought arises,

You welcome it,

And bid it farewell,

And as you swing back and forth on this swing,

Watching these clouds,

You decide to ask a question of this mind,

What am I ready to let go of?

What is no longer serving me?

Seeing answers float by,

Some of which might surprise you,

Some are quite familiar,

What am I ready to let go of?

Just noticing what comes up,

And then asking,

What do I want more of?

Breathing this bigger,

What am I letting in?

Noticing the answers,

Welcoming anything that arises,

And as you watch from this space,

You're aware that these thoughts,

And these clouds,

Are not you,

No,

You are the watcher,

The observer,

You are on that swing,

That seed of consciousness,

And with this awareness comes a liminal space of some peace,

Contentment,

You watch these clouds billow by,

Thanking that watcher inside,

That consciousness,

And feeling yourself beginning to swing a little bit less,

Gently stopping yourself and sinking your feet into the mossy ground beneath you,

Taking some breaths into this space that you have found,

A space of support,

Of love,

Of wonder,

And when you're ready,

Leaving that swing of the watcher,

And traveling up those roots,

Out of this cavern,

Up through the layers of the earth,

Through the waters,

The molten lavas,

The life,

Up through the crust,

The foundation of the space that you're in,

Those roots climbing into your legs,

Wrapping around you,

Rooting you to that space within,

That space within yourself,

That space within mother earth,

That connection to consciousness and to all of life,

Taking a few full-bodied breaths,

Feeling them expand in your body,

Your heartbeat,

Beating along with so many others,

Connected to all of them,

To all of your ancestors,

To all of life itself,

Feeling grounded,

Peaceful,

And ready to go on with your day,

Bringing movement back to your hands,

To your feet,

Maybe rolling your neck,

Placing a hand on your heart,

And saying thank you,

I am willing to show up fully to this life,

Thank you for practicing with me.

Melissa. This was great. Loved the line about the clouds and thought are not us. We are the watchers. Sometimes it can feel that way though. Thanks for sharing
