Welcome to a breathwork track centered on realizing what we most value in order to live in alignment with the people we want to be.

You'll want to lie down on your back with either no pillow or a really flat pillow.

Just let your hands lie at your sides,

Maybe you relax your palms and face them up,

Just opening to receive.

And to begin with,

Just become aware of how you're currently breathing.

You don't have to change anything,

You're just checking in.

Just see how you're breathing in your body,

Where you're breathing.

Notice how the air feels as it goes in and out of your nose or your mouth.

And as you breathe on your own,

We're going to turn our mind's eye toward the idea of values,

What really matters most.

The truth is we make choices every day that get us closer or further to the life we want to lead.

And beneath these choices are our values,

The things we hold most dear and are willing to prioritize if we're aware of them.

Identifying our personal values can help us to feel less like there's some other life we're supposed to be living,

And more on purpose,

More at ease,

More in flow or inner alignment.

The breath work we're about to do invites an awareness of those values and the space to sort out what you really want from what your family or culture or other people might have taught you to want.

It can be helpful to bring a question or intention to this breath work practice and see how the breath can answer or clarify things for you.

Your question might be something like,

What do I want more of and what do I want less of?

It might be,

What actually matters most to me?

It might also be an ask like,

Show me what is most important and then trusting your breath and your wise inner guide to show you there.

So bring a hand to your heart and take a few moments to consider what your intention or question is right now.

Settling your hands back down,

Let's hold this intention as we activate the breath work.

You're going to open your mouth slightly about two fingers width apart and close your eyes if it feels good.

Begin taking breaths in and out of your mouth that are connected,

Gentle and easy.

The inhale is through the mouth and it's really nourishing.

The exhale is also through the mouth and it's really easy.

You're not forcing anything,

You're not holding anything,

But keeping these breaths connected,

There are no pauses between the inhale and the exhale.

It's like a silent aha,

Where you don't actually say those words but your breath makes that sound and then you connect them over and over again.

Begin activating the breath,

Taking that question or intention and turning within.

If your mind wanders,

That's okay.

Just notice and gently lead it back to the breath.

And just beginning to notice where in your body you might be feeling some tension or holding some energy and just allowing it to work its way free.

Just letting the breath breathe you.

You don't have to hold on to anything here.

Breathing in and out of the mouth,

Easy and connected,

It's safe to take a full breath here.

Remembering what you were breathing in and just meeting what's here,

Meeting it with curiosity and compassion.

We have a few more minutes left to breathe,

Feeling a clarity grow,

Trusting what is coming through.

Trusting what you value,

What you want.

A few more deep nourishing inhales,

Connected gentle exhales.

Staying with this breath as long as it feels good or gently rolling onto your side and curling up and just feeling how your weight is supported by Mother Earth.

Giving yourself a squeeze,

Maybe taking a big stretch,

Feeling more anchored and steady and able to access your own inner guidance.

Thank you for practicing with me.
