Ten minutes of gentle breath work that relieves stress, brings clarity, and leaves you feeling more connected to your deepest and wisest self. Gentle guidelines for this breath work: - Find a flat place to lie down (with no pillow or a flat pillow) - Hands open and relaxed at sides - Eyes closed if it feels good - Opening the mouth, take a nourishing inhale and exhale both in and out of the relaxed mouth (breath will have the sound of “ah-ha.”) - Keep breaths connected (with no pauses between the inhale and exhale) - Let them be easy and gentle, not forced or held - Bring willingness and an open mind, leave with more connection to mystery and an open heart.

Welcome.

I am going to guide you through a relaxing,

Connected,

And healing short breath work practice.

You want to lie down on your back with either no pillow or a very flat pillow.

Just rest your hands open at your sides.

Relax your palms and face them up just ready to receive.

And just become aware of how you're currently breathing.

There's no judgment here.

You're really just checking in.

See where you're breathing in your body,

How you're breathing.

Just become aware of how it feels.

Breath work is a practice in becoming aware of a system in your body that's always going.

It has been since the day you were born.

It's automatic.

But by bringing this awareness to it,

You can be conscious and intentional.

And with that consciousness,

You can affect great changes to your physical health,

Your mental health,

The way that you feel right here and now in this moment.

So just notice the way the air is feeling as it goes in and out of your body.

And bring awareness to how that sensation of breath feels on your skin.

Those tiny little nerve endings that can become aware of a feeling as small as that.

And now we're going to really go for the breath.

As you lie relaxed on your back,

You're going to open your mouth slightly about two fingers width apart and close your eyes if it feels good.

And begin taking breaths in and out of your mouth that are connected,

Gentle,

And easy.

So the inhale is through the mouth and it's really nourishing.

The exhale is also through the mouth and it's really easy.

You're not forcing anything.

You're not holding anything.

But keeping these breaths connected,

There are no pauses between the inhale and the exhale.

It's like a silent aha where you don't actually say those words but your breath makes that sound and then you connect them over and over again.

It sounds a little bit like this.

And remember you're becoming conscious of your breath but you're not putting force anywhere.

This breath work is so easy and so connected.

And really going for the breath.

There you go.

Inhale and exhale through the mouth.

Easy,

Connected,

And gentle.

And as you're doing this,

I want to invite you to bring to mind,

What are you breathing in?

What feeling do you want more of?

As you breathe,

Bring it to mind right now.

Seeing that feeling expanding your heart and your lungs and just filling each and every inch of your body.

Seeing it reach to your crown,

Through your throat and your heart.

Seeing that feeling going out to your fingertips and your toes,

Traveling every inch of you.

And then I want to invite you to ask,

What am I breathing out?

What am I ready to compost and let go of?

And just letting it go with love,

Seeing what wants to come up right now.

Like a swing,

Your breaths are connected,

Going back and forth,

Back and forth.

Each one opening your heart a little more and a little more.

And remember,

You're just letting go on the exhale.

You don't have to make any effort to push that air out.

You're just letting go.

It is safe to let go.

And if your mind wanders,

Just gently bringing it back.

Guiding it back to the anchor of your breath.

In and out,

Through the mouth.

So easy,

So connected.

You're doing such a good job.

Staying with the breath.

Feeling each breath sweeping your body,

Clearing,

Expanding,

Relaxing.

Really embracing all of your breath.

All of you.

Feeling that breath radiating through your body,

Like with every inhale,

A light is growing.

With every exhale,

A clearing is happening.

Remembering what you were breathing in.

And as our practice wraps up,

Feeling how that intention has grown,

That feeling has expanded.

Few more deep,

Nourishing inhales and exhales.

The place that you just visited,

Joining you as you leave this practice.

Taking a few last deep,

Nourishing breaths and then surrendering this breath and allowing yourself to return to your natural way of breathing.

Putting a hand on your heart,

Feeling the gift of your body,

The gift of your breath.

It's always here for you.

And the gift of your life.

Thank you for practicing with me.
