We're going to take a few moments to sit and to celebrate this new season.
The season of fall,
Autumn.
Perhaps one of the seasons that represents change the most.
So allow yourself to find a comfortable seat.
Sit up nice and tall.
But also allow yourself to be relaxed.
Soften your shoulders away from your ears Soften the muscles in your face.
And then let your hands fall on your lap with your palms down for a little extra groundedness.
And then begin to bring your attention to the focal point of your practice,
Which will be your breath.
Breathing in and out through your nose,
Nice and slow.
Calm and steady.
Summer tends to be a very busy energy.
Lots of heat,
Lots of adventures,
Vacations.
So when we enter this season of fall,
It invites us to slow down a little.
On the day of the fall equinox,
There is a balance of equal light and equal dark.
And so that is a nice time for us to do a little balance check on ourselves,
On our life.
We do that by asking,
Where is it that I might be over giving?
And where in my life might I be under-receiving?
So take a few moments to reflect.
On your own balance check.
And then allowing those thoughts to drift away.
As though they were leaves falling off the tree and onto the ground at your feet.
Bring your attention back to your breath.
In and out through your nose.
Slow,
Calm,
And steady.
In the season of the spring,
We plant flowers,
We plant seeds.
And we watch through the summer as they begin to bloom and grow.
And perhaps you planted an actual garden of seeds and were able to watch.
As your flowers and your vegetables grew.
But not everything sprouted.
Some seeds grew better than others.
And if we take a moment to reflect metaphorically back on our life this summer.
What seeds of intentions did you set in the spring?
What is it that grew and blossomed?
And what was a little slower to start.
And now too,
Allowing those thoughts to drift away as though they were leaves falling off of the tree onto the ground at your feet.
Coming back to the anchor of your practice.
And just being here with your breath.
Noticing the sensations that the breath offers your body.
So.
Scotty and calm.
Fall is a season that invites us to.
.
.
Introduce some change,
Some routine or rituals.
Perhaps there is something in your life that needs to be released.
Let go of.
And so what is it that you are releasing this fall?
And in turn,
What is it that you are making space for?
And then allowing yourself to release all of those thoughts.
Let them go.
Like leaves falling off of the tree.
And tuning back in to your breath.
And if you would like to.
Perhaps you could set an intention for this upcoming season of fall.
What is it that you are going to give your energy?
And attention to.
What in your life is most deserving of all of your time.
In this season.
Right here,
Right now,
What is it that is so important to you?
It doesn't have to be a big elaborate goal.
What is important to you right now might just be rest.
Stillness.
Taking good care of yourself.
The rituals work.
Not because of what they are.
Not because of how elaborate you make them.
But the rituals and the meditations work because you show up.
Because you give yourself.
The space.
The time.
And the attention that you deserve.
So take a moment today.
And every day of the season.
To honor the fall.
Light a candle.
Sit in stillness.
Give thanks.
Practice gratitude clean and clear your space.
And journal all of your thoughts.
And for just another moment,
Let's let go of the thoughts one last time.
Letting them drop like leaves.
Onto the earth beneath your feet.
Drawing your attention back to your breath as you breathe in and out through your nose.
Slow and steady.
Take another deep breath in.
And then slowly release that breath out,
This time through your mouth with a sigh.
Opening your eyes if they were closed.
Looking around the room,
Feeling the temperature.
Of the air on your skin.
Begin to offer your body some gentle movements.
Moving the fingers and the wrists.
Thank you for being here with me.
And practicing.
I appreciate you.
And I wish you a happy,
Wonderful fall season.
Namaste.
