Hello,
Welcome to your Summer Solstice Meditation.
The Summer Solstice marks the day of the year that has the most sunlight.
So I ask of you,
What will you do with this little gift of extra sunlight today?
As we move through this transition from spring to summer,
We can bask in the abundance of light and celebrate all the sun's power has to offer us here on earth.
For many ancient traditions,
Many of our ancestors have celebrated the Summer Solstice as a time to gather,
A time to celebrate.
You might want to find a place outside facing the sun for this practice if you're able to do so.
We'll begin by grounding into the earth,
Making a connection.
Notice where the earth meets your body.
You're welcome to sit up or lie down,
Allowing your spine to be long and letting your hands rest with your palms facing upwards.
This way you can be open to fueling yourself with the energy from the sun.
This way you can allow the sun to support you in building confidence.
With your palms facing up,
You can embody the power and the light that the sun offers to us.
The Summer Solstice calls for a time to celebrate your own inner light.
It is a time for powerful healing.
Arrive in your body and just release any tension.
Release any sound that wants to escape.
Taking a deep breath in and a cleansing breath out with your exhale,
Perhaps with a loud sigh.
And then just be aware of the natural rhythm of your breath.
Breathing in and just breathing out.
Begin to soften and relax into this moment.
Begin to notice what sensations are present in your body.
What is the temperature of your body?
Can you notice any movement inside of your body?
Are you aware of any sounds coming from your body?
Just allowing yourself to notice what is alive in you right now.
Summer Solstice can be translated to sun standing still.
After the sun sets today,
Its power will begin to decrease.
The days will gradually get shorter as we head towards the darker half of the year again.
Such is the humbling flow of nature.
Summer Solstice is an invitation to rejuvenate your spirit and reconnect with yourself and the earth.
Bring your awareness to your heart space and just breathe here.
Maybe you can feel the sun radiating from the sky above.
And then notice your own radiance and light.
Begin to connect with one thing that you are celebrating,
Big or small.
What are you celebrating today?
Perhaps you've accomplished something recently.
Maybe you're celebrating a special event,
A graduation,
A wedding anniversary,
Birthday,
New baby.
Whatever it is,
Just take a moment here to let the feeling of love fill your heart space as you think of this thing that you are celebrating.
Gently bow your head to your heart with an offering of gratitude for your heart,
Mind and body.
An offering of gratitude for your light,
Your inner sun.
Begin to lift your chin,
Let your shoulders roll down onto your back so that your chest lifts towards the sun.
Shine your inner light.
Find ways every day to honor and celebrate your life.
Take a deep generous breath in through your nose.
And then open your mouth and let it all pour out.
The light in me sees the light in you.
