Hello and welcome to this meditation for heartbreak.
Allow yourself to find a place where you can be undisturbed,
A place where you can relax.
Let your body rest in a position that feels supportive,
Whether that be sitting up nice and tall or lying down.
You don't need to force yourself to feel peaceful.
Just allow yourself to arrive here exactly as you are right now.
Gently close your eyes or maybe just lowering your gaze.
And then take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
Exhale softly through your mouth.
And then again,
Breathing in as if you're making room inside of yourself,
Expansive.
And then breathe out as if you were letting the weight in your chest loosen,
If even only slightly.
Allowing yourself to relax a little more on every exhale.
Place one hand over your heart if that feels comfortable.
And then notice the warmth of your hand.
And can you notice that beneath the ache?
Beneath the questions.
Beneath the longing that you might feel.
Your heart is still here.
Tender.
Perhaps tired or sad.
But it's still here beating for you.
Silently say to yourself.
I know this hurts.
And I am allowed to feel this hurt.
I do not have to rush my healing.
I do not have to understand everything today.
I can let this moment be enough.
With each inhale,
Imagine drawing in steadiness.
And with each exhale,
Imagine releasing one small piece of what you cannot be carrying right now.
You are not abandoning your love.
You are not denying what once mattered.
You are simply giving your body permission to set down.
What is too heavy?
For this breath.
In this moment.
You do not have to carry.
This heaviness around.
You can release the pain.
In your heart.
Picture yourself sitting beside a calm shore.
And in your hands.
You hold the paint.
The memories.
The hopes and dreams that seem to have failed.
The unanswered things.
All of this pain in your hands.
You don't have to throw it away.
But you can simply place them beside you for now.
Let the tide come in close.
Let it remind you as it does that everything moves.
And everything changes.
And even grief has waves that will rise.
And that will fall.
Bring your attention back to your breath.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Feel the support that is already here for you.
You are not broken because your heart is hurting.
You are human.
And you are healing in so many ways that you yourself may not even be able to see yet.
Give yourself space.
And give yourself time.
When you are ready,
Gently repeat.
May I be patient with my heart.
May I be kind to parts of me that miss what was.
May I trust that love can leave an ache and still leave me whole.
May I return to myself,
Breath after breath.
Moment.
After moments.
Take one final deep breath in.
And let it go slowly.
And when you feel ready,
You can open your eyes.
And carry with you this simple truth.
Your heart.
Is allowed to take its time.
