Hello and welcome to today's meditation.

Today's meditation is meant to be done with your animals,

With your pets.

So if your pet is not in a calm state right now,

You may want to try this meditation later when they're in a calm,

Sleeping or restful state.

And if you are ready with your animal,

Take a comfortable seat either beside,

In front just near your animal,

Within distance where you could reach your hand out,

Place your hand.

You can do this with either a cat or a dog.

Could be hard to do it with a fish,

But if you wanted to sit next to your fish tank,

Then that would be fine as well.

You might hear my dogs in this meditation as they are sitting here with me this morning.

So if you're ready,

We'll go ahead and get started.

Just taking that comfortable seat next to your animal,

With no distractions,

No noises.

See if you can place those thoughts away for just a few moments.

And just begin to focus in on your breath.

Notice the air as it comes in through your nose.

And then notice the air as it leaves.

Just breathing in and breathing out at your own comfortable pace.

And then placing your hand gently on your pet's belly or abdomen.

And see if you can notice the gentle rise and fall of your animal's breath.

And you feel your hand lift slightly as they breathe in,

Filling up their capacity.

And then your hand softening in as they exhale their breath.

Perhaps you can feel their heart beating under your hand.

Perhaps they're moving around under your hand trying to get you to pet them.

See if you can stay with your hand in one place on their body and just feeling their breath.

And then see if you're able to match your breath to the breath of your pet.

When you feel them rise,

Can you breathe in?

And when the hand falls,

Are you able to breathe out?

One fluid movement,

Your breath and your animal's breath,

All working together to connect as one.

Animals communicate in pictures.

They communicate with visualizations.

So if there is a message that you would like to send to your pet and something you would like to say to them,

See if you can create that vision in your mind.

Create the picture of what you're trying to tell and imagine that picture being transferred from your brain through your hand to your animal's heart.

They're open to receive your love.

And in return,

They offer you their unconditional love.

The relationship that you have with your pet is very unique.

The relationship that you have with your pet is very special.

Consider how lovely it is to include them in your self-love practice.

And again,

With that picture in your mind,

Go ahead and show your pet how much you love them,

Sending that high vibrational love from your heart through your hand to your animal's heart.

And then feel that love radiating back through your animal,

And into your own heart.

Back to focusing on your breath.

Are you still matching that animal's breath in and out?

Or have you moved away back to your own pattern?

Just noticing your breath.

Just noticing any thoughts,

Feelings that are arising at this moment.

And then in our final message to our pets,

We're going to give them some gratitude.

So again,

Creating that picture in your mind,

That picture of what it means to be thankful.

Thankful for your pet's life.

Thankful for your pet's feelings.

And thankful for your pet to be able to be here with you today in this practice.

And are you able to feel that gratitude radiating back from your pet?

That utmost gratitude that they have for you,

For feeding them and playing with them,

Perhaps taking them for walks,

Letting them outside,

Giving them treats.

In this world,

Your pet may just be a small portion of your life,

But it is likely that you are the biggest portion of your pet's life.

So when you think of the gratitude that you have for your pet,

It's likely that they have twice as much gratitude for you.

So continue to sit here with that love for your pet.

Or you can go ahead and give them a nice little gentle pet,

Starting from their head all the way down,

Their backs and bellies,

Maybe rubbing your hands over their feet and their ears or perhaps their tail,

Examining every part of your animal's body that they will allow.

They will let you know what they like and don't like if you just allow yourself to take the time to pay attention.

Enjoy the rest of the time with your animal here.

Have a wonderful day.

I look forward to meditating with you again.

Thank you.

Really nice 😊my dog always comes and sits next to me when I sit in the morning. This was extra connection to my sweet boy, who is declining from a neurologic disease. I'm thankful for our time.
