Welcome to this meditation offering you affirmations for patience.
You most likely were drawn to this meditation because you've been feeling impatient in some area of your life.
Impatience creates uncomfortable feelings.
Feelings of longing,
Anxiety,
Frustration,
Agony,
To name a few.
And it can also create a sense of urgency,
Where you feel an urge to do more,
Stay busy,
Move faster,
Or try to skip ahead.
And this busyness and drive to do more is a way of distracting yourself or trying to move away from those uncomfortable feelings.
But meanwhile,
This tendency to keep doing pulls you away from being or simply experiencing and appreciating the present moment.
And instead,
The moments just pass on by.
And sometimes in this push to move on and move forward,
Valuable opportunities are missed or overlooked.
So in order to increase your capacity for patience,
There's a need to interrupt the sense of urgency and allow yourself to slow down and simply be still and wait.
To release the need for instant gratification or instant relief.
To let go of the fears and worries that create that sense of urgency.
To let go of the beliefs that feed your impatience.
And instead,
Offer yourself affirmations that can remind you of the benefits of patience and remaining calm.
And remind you to trust that things will come to you or become clear to you in right timing.
So let's begin now by allowing yourself to settle into a comfortable position.
When you're ready,
Gently close your eyes.
And we'll start by focusing in on your breath.
Noticing how you're breathing right now without trying to control your breathing.
Simply paying attention to the inhale and the exhale.
Noticing how your chest rises and falls with each breath.
Feeling your body continue to settle into a place of comfort.
And allowing it to relax with each exhale.
In a moment,
We'll take in a full deep breath.
And as you exhale,
Let out a sigh to really allow your body to let go and relax.
So go ahead and take a deep breath in.
And release with a sigh.
Letting your shoulders drop down and back.
And once more,
Take a deep breath in.
And sigh.
Feeling the release.
And take another deep breath in.
This time,
Release slowly and fully.
Feeling the air leaving your lungs completely.
Take another deep breath in.
Again,
Slowly releasing.
And allowing your body to let go as you release.
Once more,
Take a deep breath in.
And slowly release.
And then allow your breathing to return to a pace that feels comfortable for you.
And notice how it feels to simply be in this moment.
Allowing yourself to relax.
And embrace a feeling of calm.
Now notice where your body is making contact with the chair or the ground or whatever surface you're resting on.
Feel how these points of contact are supporting you.
Feel that sense of connection to the surface that you're resting on.
Your body pressing downward with gravity,
Keeping you grounded to the earth.
And the surface pressing upward against you to hold you and support you.
And as you remain in this calm place,
Feeling supported and grounded,
Allow the following affirmations to resonate within and through you.
I choose patience.
There's no need to rush.
I am filled with calm.
I resist the urge to take action right now.
And I allow myself to simply be.
I have enough time to slow down and rest.
I trust that everything will happen in the right time.
I feel at ease while I wait.
It feels good to relax and take things slow.
When I can pause and be still,
I see new opportunities.
And my mind is more clear to make choices in line with my values.
I am willing to pause to observe and listen to what's real and true right now.
I honor the process and the time that it takes to reach my goals.
I am committed to my purpose,
No matter how long it takes.
It may take time,
But it will happen and it's worth the wait.
When I don't know the answer,
It may be that it's not time yet.
I trust that my next steps will become clear in time.
I trust the timing of my journey.
I can relax and enjoy the journey.
I can appreciate what's in my life now.
I breathe in patience and trust.
I breathe in inspiration.
I am patient with myself.
I accept my unique pace and I embrace my process.
I am patient with my healing and I understand healing takes time.
I treat others with patience and respect.
I accept their unique process and pace.
I respond gently and patiently.
I am filled with calm acceptance.
I gently release expectations and the need to know all the answers.
I release the fear and worry that creates a false sense of urgency.
I trust in my inner wisdom and my ability to handle whatever challenges arise.
Good things are coming to me.
I understand the value of patience.
Patience is strength and I am strong.
I can embody the patience that I've admired in others.
My patience grows stronger every day.
When I am at peace,
I am patient.
When I am patient,
I am at peace.
Take a few minutes longer to allow those affirmations to sink in.
And if you remember any in particular that stood out,
You can even repeat them to yourself now.
And now,
As this meditation comes to a close,
Bring your attention back to your breath,
Noticing how your body moves as you continue to breathe in and breathe out.
Noticing once again where your body is making contact with the surface beneath you,
Feeling that grounding and support.
And go ahead and start to move your body a little.
Roll your shoulders back.
Allow your head to roll around on your neck.
And stretch if you need to.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes to bring your full awareness back into the present moment.
Remember,
Patience doesn't always come easily.
It's something that you can continue to develop with time and practice.
And as you go through your days,
A simple way to practice patience is to remember to slow down,
Take a deep breath,
And pause before reacting or responding.
Getting yourself accustomed to slowing down and simply being still and waiting for a moment or two.
I hope that you're able to continue to use these affirmations to help you slow down and build your ability to be patient.
It's worth it.
Thank you for joining me,
And take good care.
