Welcome to Divine Choices with Meg.
Aristotle said,
We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence,
Then,
Is not an act,
But a habit.
So begin with today.
Just for today.
Take one day at a time.
Find yourself a comfortable position.
Get cozy until you find that perfect spot.
Let your shoulders drop.
Relax your jaw.
Make sure your hands are not clenched.
Let's get started.
Close your eyes and go within.
We'll start with some breath work.
Take a deep breath in.
Hold at the top.
A slow breath out,
Like you're blowing through a straw.
Another deep breath in.
Even bigger this time.
Hold at the top.
Focusing on your out breath.
Release it slowly,
Like you're blowing through a straw.
Let it go.
Let go of your breath.
Let go of your to-do list.
Let go of whatever happened yesterday.
Empty your lungs completely.
Another breath in for the newness of today.
A deep,
Full breath through your nose.
Feel it in your body.
Take one more sip of air.
And release it like you're blowing through a straw.
Find that you're settling.
Becoming more relaxed.
Follow that breath out.
Return to your normal breathing.
If we feel good,
We'll think good thoughts.
And as a result,
We'll take positive actions.
If we change the way we think,
Feel,
Act,
And speak,
We will begin to change the world around us.
Then,
With the change in your world,
You will become a ripple.
Just like when you toss or skip a rock on a still body of water,
It creates ripples and changes the water.
Be the change you want to see.
With your hands on your heart and following your breath,
Repeat these affirmations silently or aloud.
Breathe in.
Just for today,
I will speak only kind words to myself.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe in.
Just for today,
I will not worry.
Breathe in.
Just for today,
I will be happy where I am.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe in.
Just for today,
I will slow down and listen to my breath.
Breathe in.
Just for today,
I will be kind to myself and every living thing.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Just for today,
I will let go of perfection and embrace progress.
Breathe out.
Remember that each day is an opportunity to begin anew.
Just for today,
Carry with you the intention to stay present.
Be compassionate towards yourself.
When you are ready,
Softly bring your awareness back to the room.
Wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes.
Stretch if you feel inclined.
And gently open your eyes.
As you move forward through your day,
Remind yourself of the simplicity and the power of living just for today.
We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence,
Then,
Is not an act,
But a habit.
Return to this meditation daily to start a new practice.
A new habit,
With the reminder that it takes 30 days for a habit to settle in.
Thank you for showing up for yourself today.
Namaste.
