Welcome to Divine Choices with Meg.

In today's practice we're going to focus on coming home to ourselves through this grounding meditation practice.

Come back to it daily or whenever you feel like you're feeling lost or losing your footing with self.

As Eckhart Tolle said,

Ground yourself in the present moment.

This is where you'll find peace.

Find yourself a comfortable position,

Get cozy,

Move around until you find that perfect spot.

Let your shoulders drop.

Relax your jaw.

Place your hands face down on your thighs and if you can firmly plant your feet on the ground.

Close your eyes and go within.

We'll start as always with some breath work.

Take a deep breath in for six.

Hold at the top and a slow breath out like you're blowing through a straw for the count of six.

We'll do this two more times.

A deep breath in for six.

Holding at the top and a slow breath out like you're blowing through a straw.

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six.

One more time.

Deep breath in.

Make this your deepest breath yet.

A little sip of air at the top and hold.

And then a slow breath out,

Letting all the air release from your lungs.

Return to your regular breath.

Visualize roots growing from your feet down the earth to the core of the earth,

Anchoring around a rock or crystal.

Visualize these roots starting from the top of your head and go all the way down your body through your throat and your heart and your lungs and your stomach and your legs coming out your feet and anchoring to the earth's core to that rock or crystal that you visualized.

With each breath allow it to be a gentle grounding for this present moment.

Feel yourself becoming more present,

More connected to this moment.

It is easy to become unanchored or ungrounded within ourselves.

Being pulled in so many different directions and having so many stimulants at our disposal.

When we are ungrounded in ourselves and not home within ourselves,

It is easy for those things to take us off track,

To become more easily agitated,

Worried about things yet to come,

Or have anxiety about things in the future.

It has been said that depression is worrying about the things that have already happened.

And we can't change them.

Anxiety is thinking or worrying about things that have yet happened.

We can't stop the rain.

If we worry about whether it's going to rain or tomorrow or not,

There is nothing we can do about it.

All we have is this present moment.

Nothing in the past matters in this moment.

And nothing in the future matters at this moment.

All that matters is you and connecting to yourself through your breath.

Allow your breath to flow naturally in and out.

The gentle rise and fall of your chest and belly.

If you find your mind drifting away,

That is totally normal.

Gently come back to your breath.

Your roots,

Visualize them connected around that rock or crystal and the support of the earth.

Embrace the sensation of the support beneath you.

Visualize the earth holding you,

Anchoring you to the roots of a tree.

With every breath,

Feel your connection deepening,

Becoming stronger.

Unshakeable.

Remember,

You can always come back home to yourself.

Just come back to your breath.

Back to your body.

Back to your heart.

Whenever you feel disconnected or overwhelmed,

Remember and return to this grounding practice.

Slowly start to bring your awareness back.

Take a deep breath.

Release the roots around the rock or crystal that you've anchored to and picture them going back up through the earth,

Through your feet,

Through your body as a bright light.

Take a deep inhale and exhale,

Releasing anything left over that doesn't serve you in this moment.

When you are ready,

Gently blink your eyes open.

Wiggle your fingers and toes,

Returning fully to the space around you.

Remember,

You can always come home to yourself.

Ground yourself in the present moment.

This is where you'll find peace.

Focus back on your breath,

Back on your body,

Back on your heart.

Thank you for showing up for yourself today and coming home to yourself.

Until next time,

Namaste.
