In this meditation,
We will be repeating four affirmations to promote mindfulness in dating and relationships.
I recommend using this meditation before you start swiping on dating apps,
Before attending a singles event,
Or before a first date with someone new.
We'll start by sitting in a comfortable seat.
Take a moment to feel where your body is.
Feel where your body is making contact with the ground,
With your chair or the floor,
Or where your body is making contact with another part of your body.
Inhale slowly,
And sit in this moment of gratitude for your body.
Exhale negativity or stale energy that may be stuck inside.
Let's do that one more time.
Inhale gratitude.
Exhale negativity.
Continue to breathe at your own pace.
We live in a world where meeting people has been gamified.
We use our phones or our laptops to make connections,
All the while being distracted by likes,
Swipes,
And notifications.
With all of these distractions,
It becomes easy to move on to the next person,
To forget the conversations we've been having,
Or to start conversations without being mindful.
Taking a moment before we swipe or write a message to someone or go on a date is a reminder that this is a mindful process.
Mindfulness in dating allows us more opportunities to find and make a connection.
We are more likely to see a person for who they are and give them more chances to show who they are when we are being mindful.
Continue to breathe,

The miscommunications,
And the moments of connection,
And the confusion,
And the joy,
And the love,
All of these moments form a beautiful story.
You may be on chapter one of that story.
You may be on chapter twenty-one.
The story may be beginning.
It may just start getting good.
But no matter where you are in this moment,
It's a beautiful moment.
We're going to close out this meditation with one more round of breath together.
