Hello,
And welcome back to Day 7,
The final day of this series.
I hope you've enjoyed meditating together over the past week as much as I have.
But like all things with a beginning and a middle,
They must also have an end.
So,
Come into a comfortable seat,
Settle into a posture that may be a bit more familiar to you now than it was when we first began,
And come into the present moment.
This moment which has never happened before and will never happen again.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Settle into the sensations of the body,
Noticing what's here today.
Continuing to breathe,
Perhaps giving yourself a long exhale,
Letting go of anything that's not helping you be here,
Right now,
In this present moment.
So over the past several days,
We've gone on quite a journey together.
We started by setting our intentions and making a commitment to show up for ourselves every day for seven days.
We talked about the definition of mindfulness and some of the common benefits,
While leaving the door open for benefits to be discovered through practice.
We experienced what it feels like to hold the mind,
The physical body,
And the emotions in awareness,
One at a time.
We introduced the concept of the anchor,
So you can always have something to rest your attention on.
And lastly,
We practiced inserting awareness as a technique for managing stress.
Reflecting back now,
How did the past seven days go for you?
Was it what you thought it would be?
And how do you feel now,
Having gone on this journey?
Are there any changes,
Big or small,
That you notice in yourself today,
Compared to when you first committed to this practice?
Did any challenges,
Whether internal or external,
Arise for you?
Did you observe anything that was unexpectedly pleasant?
Did you learn something about yourself that you didn't know before?
Anytime the mind wanders,
Gently bring the attention back to the breath and the body.
And now,
With kindness,
Warmth,
And compassion,
Congratulate yourself for completing this series,
For consistently giving yourself this short pause in your day,
And for showing yourself that you are worth learning more about and showing up for.
Come back into the body now and give yourself a luxurious,
Delicious,
Full body stretch.
And open the eyes whenever you feel ready.
