Welcome to Making Meditation Mainstream 10-Minute Meditations.

My name is Katie and today's theme is about dropping out of the mind and into the heart.

We have such busy minds which are thinking incessantly,

Something to 60-70,

000 thoughts a day and 90% of those thoughts are the same as they were the day before.

The beautiful thing about meditation is the ability for us to start to quieten all of the other senses and quieten that chatter that we have in our minds and really start to focus and drop into our heart space so that we can start leading and living and making decisions from our heart where we have this more intuitive sort of wisdom and voice that's speaking to us.

Because our thoughts can often take us on different wild tangents and we don't actually have to believe every single thought that we think.

When you're able to drop out of the mind and into your heart,

You're able to start living from a place of authenticity.

So as we move into the meditation,

I'd like you to really contemplate letting go of those thoughts dropping out of your mind and really listening in to your heart because your heart has this voice that will guide you to your authentic self.

Now start to settle in as we will start to begin the meditation sequence.

So take a moment now to settle in and relax.

Close your eyes and together let's take three breaths and on each exhale allow yourself to relax a little more and more.

Bring yourself into the present moment.

Allow the past to be the past and the future to be the future.

You are safe in this moment right now.

Place your attention on the top of your head and allow a deep sense of relaxation to cascade slowly down your face.

Feel your eyes become heavy.

Release your jaw.

Soften your mouth.

Allow your tongue to sit comfortably on the roof of your mouth.

Allow your shoulders to fall away from your neck.

Completely relaxing your arms.

Letting go of your belly.

Feeling your legs and your feet completely relaxed.

Now place your focus and awareness on your breath.

Watching the inhale and the exhale of the breath.

Just witnessing the rise and fall of your chest.

Should you have any thoughts or distractions,

Just simply acknowledging them.

Allowing them to drift slowly away and calmly before returning your attention back to the rise and fall of your chest.

Letting go of your breath.
