Hello.
Good morning.
It's time for our daily affirmation,
Inspiration,
And mindful journaling prompt.
Today's inspiration is,
I am glad to be alive.
You wake up each day with a sense of gratitude for the gift of life.
You are mindful of the beauty and wonder that surrounds you,
And you take time to appreciate the simple pleasures of life.
You are motivated to make the most of each day,
Knowing that life is precious and fleeting.
You are grateful for the experiences,
Both good and bad,
That have shaped you into the person you are today.
You choose to live with a positive attitude,
Knowing that life is what you make of it.
As you cherish each moment,
Your life will continue to be filled with joy and purpose.
There's an old gentleman here that's the manager of this building that my coworking space is in.
He's 88.
Every day,
We learn something new about what he has done in his life.
He has done so much,
And he has loved every minute of it.
He was a country-western singer in the 60s,
Played at the grand old Opry.
He's been bringing in records and CDs that we can listen to,
Which has just been so wonderful and joyful.
He's been a contractor and a painter,
And he still works every day.
I bet he drives at least 30,
40 minutes to come into work every day.
He still gets out there and cuts the grass in his yard.
He doesn't sit still.
I love that there's so much that he has done.
His wife passed away 15 years ago,
And he still wears his ring.
He does things with his kids.
He's just a happy,
Good old boy,
And so kind and generous.
I feel like that's part of the secret to living and being grateful for this gift that we have of life.
Every day,
Every moment is a gift to give ourselves to be grateful for every little thing.
Just the little things of him coming in every day.
We make a point of every day he comes in,
We give him a hug.
That right there is the key to being happy.
You get to choose.
I've said this to my daughter many times when she would be angry or frustrated or annoyed or whatever.
I'm like,
You get to choose whether you want to be happy or sad.
But I'm not saying that those other emotions aren't important because certainly they are and they need to be acknowledged.
But we don't need to wallow in them because we're given this life to be happy and to share our joy with others.
Your mindful journaling prompt for today is,
How do I make the most of this precious gift of life?
Let me know what comes up for you in the comments.
I would love to see it.
Have a beautiful day.
