Welcome,
And I hope that each one of you will come to find peace within yourself.
Tonight,
We're going to venture into the depths of the Enchanted Forest.
If you've done some of my other sleep meditations by the Sea of Tranquility,
You may remember that you have to pass through the Enchanted Forest to get to the sea.
We're walking on the path that winds through the Enchanted Forest,
And the path ends at the Sea of Tranquility.
And as we walk,
We can hear the leaves crunching underfoot.
Tonight,
However,
We're going to stop in a beautiful clearing that we'll find before we get to the end of the forest.
On either side of the path,
There are towering pine trees as well as massive oaks.
There are other mystical trees that we can't easily identify.
And peering into the forest from the path,
You can also see dogwood trees that are still in bloom,
As well as lilacs.
Some jasmine vines cling to the mighty trees,
And this variety of fragrances scents the air.
Alongside this path is the Peace River,
And it's babbling quietly as we go through the forest.
Now as we walk the path,
Give yourself permission right now to let go of everything else you are concerned with before we get started.
Make sure all your routine nighttime activities are taken care of.
Silence all your devices,
Except the one you're listening to this on.
And just lay in your bed,
Or your sleeping bag,
Or your couch,
Or your comfy recliner,
And start to settle in and get comfortable.
Comfort should always be your first consideration when you meditate,
And especially when you're trying to go to sleep.
If you want,
You can close your eyes now.
Take in a deep breath.
And as you exhale,
Let go of any tension in your body.
Feel your body sinking into your bed,
Or mattress,
Or whatever surface you're laying on,
Becoming heavier and more relaxed with each breath.
Imagine yourself surrounded by the enchanted forest,
A place of magic and tranquility.
Take a moment to notice the gentle rustling of the leaves and the soft glow of fireflies.
And with each breath,
Feel a wave of relaxation,
Starting from the top of your head and slowly moving down to your shoulders,
Arms,
Chest,
And all the way down to your toes.
Let go of any remaining thoughts or worries.
This is your time,
And it's time to sleep.
The path is moss-covered and well-worn from previous trips.
And with each step,
You feel more at peace.
The air is filled with that sweet scent of blooming flowers and the distant sound of the babbling Peace River.
The river flows through the enchanted forest until it empties into the sea of tranquility.
Now you're in your cozy spot by a large ancient tree,
And feel the tree's energy grounding you,
Connecting you to the earth.
Listen to the soothing sounds of nature around you,
The whisper of the wind in the trees.
Some of the birds are in the trees getting ready for sleep.
Just allow these sounds to lull you into a deeper state of relaxation.
This is a magical place,
And when you're here,
You can release all your cares.
Now,
As you snuggle into your covers and continue to relax,
Imagine a soft golden light beginning to surround you.
And as it surrounds you,
It's filling you with warmth and with peace.
This light represents the healing energy of the enchanted forest.
And as you breathe in,
Feel this light entering your body,
Bringing calm and serenity.
And as you exhale,
Release any worries or stress.
Repeat to yourself,
I am safe.
I am calm.
I am at peace.
I am ready for sleep.
And as you continue to breathe,
Feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed.
The gentle sounds of the forest and the warmth of the golden light are guiding you into a restful sleep.
Allow your mind to drift,
Knowing that you are in a place of complete safety and tranquility.
And we're just breathing as the forest settles all around us.
And the river keeps flowing.
And the gentle rain patters on the leaves of the trees.
And the rain falls.
And the river runs.
And the forest settles into quiet.
And the breeze is soft against your skin.
And the rain falls.

The birds are falling asleep now.

There's nothing to do but sleep.
