Welcome to this meditation on the Wheel of Awareness.
Begin by finding your posture for meditation.
Relaxed,
Aware,
Bring attention to your breathing,
Slowing and relaxing each breath,
Adding a pause between in and out breath,
Noticing the relaxation this pause brings.
Gently close the eyes,
Bring attention to the top of the head and begin scanning slowly downward,
Moving any energy of distraction,
Of stress through the head,
The neck,
Down the shoulders and the arms along with the torso,
Feeling increasing calm as this energy moves down the arms,
Through the torso,
Out the fingers,
Down the legs and out the toes,
Feeling present here.
Now,
In the mind's eye,
Picture a wheel with golden spokes connected in the center with a hub of pure white light.
As you move attention around the outside of the wheel,
You realize this represents your field of awareness,
Noticing thoughts,
Memories,
Sensations,
People,
Feelings,
Taking attention slowly around this outside of the wheel of awareness,
Feeling wonder,
Feeling gratitude.
Allow attention to stop and focus on one golden spoke that represents your connections,
Your relationships,
The people in your life from past to present,
Including me and others listening to this meditation.
Allow the faces of the people of your life to cross the screen.
What a gift to have all these connections represented on this spoke of awareness.
Bring attention to a different spoke on the wheel,
The golden spoke that represents your body,
Noticing how it feels now,
Allowing awareness of its many amazing functions as it takes you through life.
The bones,
The skin,
Your limbs,
Your amazing senses that connect you to life,
Touch,
Taste,
Sight,
Sound.
What a gift this body resting on this spoke of awareness,
This golden spoke representing the body.
You again feel gratitude.
And now take attention to a different spoke on this wheel of awareness,
The golden spoke that represents your mind,
Awareness and attention to the many wonders of the mind,
Memory,
Imagination,
Learning,
Knowing,
Wonder,
And even distraction.
All gifts,
These features of the mind represented by this golden spoke.
Next,
Move attention to another golden spoke,
This one representing feeling,
Heart centered emotion,
The feelings of joy,
Of sadness,
Of love and fear,
Peace,
Life,
This golden spoke of feeling that makes you,
You.
Gradually move attention down that spoke of feeling inward,
The center of your chest,
Deeper and deeper toward the hub connecting all spokes,
The hub of pure awareness filled with white light.
This hub of pure awareness is filled with perfect peace,
Infinite wisdom,
And endless love.
Rest here now for a moment in this place of perfect peace.
Bringing attention again to the body,
To the toes as you move awareness slowly up the feet and the legs,
Bringing this endless love,
This pure awareness up,
Feeling attention and energy rising up the body through the hands,
The arms,
The torso,
Being filled with this white light of pure awareness,
Moving,
Filling up into the eyes and the crown of the head,
Feeling this peace,
This pure awareness part of you now,
Knowing that you can bring it to the outer wheel of awareness of your life,
Meeting events of this day with this perfect peace,
This pure awareness.
