Explore MeditationMaria Malati Gelabert Artiles (Ph.D., RYT200) is a chemist and yoga teacher, with certifications from Integral Yoga with Satya Greenstone (2010), restorative yoga with Judith Lasater (2011) and Yoga Nidra with Julie Lusk (2023). In her creative nonfiction writing, she explores scientific connections between mindfulness and thermodynamics, folding chemistry into yoga and wellness. Of specific interest is chaos, or thermodynamic entropy, where ideas of chaos or disorder can be used to better understand and work with mind chatter. About five years ago, Malati developed the Managing Mind Chaos yoga workshop, which combines scientifically-based content within the backdrop of meditation and restorative yoga practice. She also holds workshops in restorative yoga; her regular yoga instruction includes weekly Movement and Meditation and monthly Restorative Blend with Yoga Nidra.
