Snippets of Wisdom number 77.

Freedom to not freedom from.

We all want more freedom.

Do you know why?

It's because freedom forms the basis of all life.

Our inner beings,

Our nonphysical part,

Are always calling us to more freedom.

To be free,

To be all that we want to be.

To do all that we intend to do.

And to have all that we desire to have.

When we face contrast,

Experiences we don't want,

We are presented with a choice.

When we see something we don't like,

We know what we would prefer.

Contrast is valuable in that it helps us clarify what we actually want,

What we prefer.

So what does this have to do with our perspective of freedom?

The energetic vibration is completely different when we focus our thoughts on freedom from as opposed to freedom to.

When we focus on achieving freedom from a situation or something unwanted,

We are focused on the problem that we want to flee.

When we focus on where we're going,

We are focused on freedom to something better or the improved solution.

Can you feel the energetic difference?

Think about a time that you wanted to get away from,

A situation or a person.

At first,

Your immediate response was to get away from this as quickly as possible.

It might have felt scary or dangerous,

So you wanted to flee immediately.

It didn't feel good,

Did it?

Now think of a time you knew you wanted to get away from a situation or person,

Yet you calmed yourself enough to focus on what you wanted instead or where you might go that was more pleasant.

Even though you knew you didn't want to be in that experiential place,

You also knew there was an opportunity for you to focus on somewhere that would be more pleasing and safe.

That felt much better,

Right?

We all face situations and people we don't want to be around.

Their negativity is palpable,

So we know that we want to be in a pleasant space with those who love us.

Where should we focus?

On the freedom from the situation or looking forward to the freedom to something better?

Now,

I'm not telling you to stay in a dangerous situation.

Please understand that I'm never promoting someone to stay in an abusive or harmful situation.

Seek help as quickly as you can get away.

I'm referring to situations that is just unpleasant or something you simply don't want.

Rather than maintaining your focus on obtaining freedom from a negative situation,

Always focus on the positive energetic forward motion of freedom to something good.
