Welcome to this healing meditation.

Today we're going to focus on releasing pain and finding peace as we navigate through the loss of a loved one.

So I'd just like you to find a comfortable quiet place to sit or lie down and just close your eyes and take a deep breath in and then slowly exhale.

Just begin by focusing on your breath.

Take slow deep breaths,

Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

And with each breath just allow your body to relax more deeply.

Feel the tension melt away from your shoulders,

Your neck,

Your jaw and ultimately your entire body.

Just let go of any thoughts or distractions and bring your awareness fully to this present moment.

Now place one hand over your heart and just feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest with every breath.

I'd like you to start by visualizing a warm golden light emanating from your heart center.

This light ultimately represents love,

Compassion and healing.

And as you continue to breathe just imagine this light growing brighter and more expansive with each inhale.

Feel its warmth spreading throughout your entire body,

Enveloping you in a cocoon of comfort,

Peace,

Calm and safety.

Now this next part might be tough,

But bring your mind to the loved one that you have lost.

Picture their face,

Remember their voice,

Recall moments that you shared together.

Allow yourself to feel whatever emotions arise,

Whether that be sadness,

Love or even joy.

And just acknowledge these feelings without judgment,

Because they are all a natural part of the healing process.

It's totally okay for you to get upset.

It's totally okay for any feelings to come to the surface.

Now imagine that golden light,

The golden light from your heart that is now surrounding your loved one.

See them bathed in this light,

They're at peace and they're free from any pain.

And as you continue to hold this image,

Just silently say to yourself,

I release you with love and gratitude.

I release my pain and sorrow.

And I allow myself to heal.

Visualize any pain or sorrow that you're holding as dark,

Heavy energy.

And with every exhale,

Just imagine this dark energy being gently lifted away from your body,

Dissolving into that golden warm light.

Feel the weight being lifted from your heart and sense a growing lightness within you.

Focus on the feelings of lightness and peace that are now within you.

Know that it's okay to feel these emotions,

Even amidst grief.

You are honoring your loved one by allowing yourself to heal.

With every breath that you take,

Just embrace the peace and love that fills your heart.

And most of all,

Know that your loved one's memory will always remain with you.

And that they are a part of you always.

And then just slowly reach out to that person.

You might want to hold their hands.

You might want to give them a hug.

You might even want to give them a kiss.

Feel all of their emotions.

Feel all those associated emotions.

And with every exhale,

Let your pain and sorrow float away.

Now place your other hand over your heart center also.

And feel that golden warm light expand through your heart.

And feel that golden warm light expand throughout your entire body once again.

Know that your loved one is always with you.

And that they are a part of you always.

Give gratitude to them for being a part of your journey and a part of your life.

Think about all of the lessons that you've learned from that person.

Think about how you are the person that you are today because of that person.

Show love,

Joy,

Happiness and gratitude for having had this person's guidance in your life.

And then just gently begin to bring your awareness back to your current surroundings.

So feel the surface that you're sitting or lying on.

Start to gently wiggle your fingers or your toes.

You might choose to rock your head from side to side.

And then just take one last deep cleansing breath.

And exhale.

And then when you're ready,

You can slowly open your eyes.

You may wish to take a moment to sit in quiet contemplation.

Just absorbing the feelings of peace and healing that you've just cultivated.

Remember that it's okay to revisit this meditation whenever and wherever you need to.

Healing is a journey.

And you are taking beautiful steps forward.
