So,

Coming to lie on a flat,

Comfortable surface.

If you're lying completely flat,

Just allowing your feet to fall away from each other.

If you have any discomfort in your back,

You may choose to explore moving your feet in towards your hips,

Bending your knees up.

Having your arms resting away from the body.

You may prefer to have a blanket or pillow under your neck to support your head.

Making a choice as to whether to close your eyes or if you're feeling particularly sleepy.

Maybe choosing to keep the eyes open with a soft focus above.

So,

Checking in to begin with,

With a few useful attitudes to have in mind.

So,

Working with awareness of whatever you are experiencing moment to moment and doing so with the guidance,

With an attitude of doing things as best you can.

And above all,

Remembering to bring a friendly curiosity to all events as they unfold.

There is really nothing to perfect,

Nothing to get right in this practice.

Rather,

Seeing if it's possible to befriend your experience,

Whatever this turns out to be,

As the moments of this practice unfold.

This sense of allowing things to be just as they are is deeply nourishing.

Seeing if it's possible for you to allow your experience to be just as it is and yourselves to be just as you are.

And remembering to put the welcome mat out for all experiences,

Including any difficulties and any discomfort you may encounter.

Seeing if it's possible to let go of the fear of wanting things to be a certain way.

Instead,

Just tuning in to things exactly as they are.

So,

Tuning in to the sense of the whole body lying here right now.

A sense of being supported by whatever you're lying on.

A sense of not needing to be doing anything at all.
