Alright,
This is Mark Silver with Heart of Business.
Welcome to the Monday Remembrance.
I want to encourage you to go ahead and get comfortable.
Take a nice gentle breath and just notice how you're feeling.
Notice how much space there is to feel exactly how you're feeling without needing to change or fix anything.
One of the topics that comes up quite often for those of us living in a culture like ours,
Especially if you're self-employed,
Has to do with survival fears around money.
Where you're needing money more than you have and more than you think you can reasonably get.
And it's very,
Very hard on the nervous system.
It's very hard to think of anything else than the survival.
And it can really feel,
Leave you tied up in knots.
And so if you feel any sense of connection to this topic,
I just want to encourage you to let that feeling in.
Most of the pain,
Or a lot of the pain comes from,
It's such an uncomfortable feeling.
Not knowing what to do and trying to tighten down and not feel it.
Trying to fix it.
So just notice.
Just notice how you're feeling.
And let the fear,
The survival fear,
The desire and yearning for money,
Let there be space for that.
Don't try to shut it down.
Notice the discomfort in your body.
Notice where you feel it.
Maybe in the belly,
Maybe in the shoulders,
Maybe in the jaw,
Maybe somewhere else.
So much space to feel that.
And then starting to remember.
Starting to call to the Divine.
Now it would be very easy and natural here to call to the Divine like a drowning person reaching for a rope.
And there's something appropriate about that when you feel that way.
And I want to encourage you to not do it that way.
That as you call to the Divine,
Not trying to be artificially peaceful or calm,
Because that's not true either.
But just notice what it's like to stay home in your belly,
Stay home in your heart.
And begin to call to the Divine through the open doorway of your heart saying,
Yes,
I'm scared.
Yes,
I'm stuck.
Yes,
I don't see a solution.
Yeah,
Allah,
Whatever name for the Divine you're using to call.
Is there love available even here?
Is the Divine present even here in this fear,
In this stuck place?
What is here?
Just calling to the Divine over and over,
Calling the Name like you would call to the Beloved,
You would call to a loved one.
When you don't have anything really to say,
You're just feeling so much Allah,
Allah.
Sadness and grief,
Pain and frustration,
Anger,
Numbness,
Fear,
Overwhelm.
All of these things can be true.
And the Divine and the love.
Is there love available even here?
And what does it mean?
If the Divine is present here with you.
Feeling the helplessness in your situation,
Letting yourself surrender.
This is where I am right now.
Letting your feet be firmly on the floor,
Standing where you are.
Letting your head bow and your heart bow and the humility of surrendering to what is.
And also surrendering to the mystery of the unknown,
To the presence of the Divine,
To a larger reality that perhaps you're not fully sensing or witnessing.
What is here?
What is here that may be a surprise to your heart beyond what you've been seeing?
Letting yourself be open,
Letting yourself be willing to be surprised.
What is here?
It's really legitimate to want to be cared for,
To want to have a sufficiency,
To want to survive.
These were all very legitimate desires.
Your heart and your ego and your being is very,
Very justified in yearning,
Yearning for that.
And the Divine and the love and the One.
What else does your heart notice?
What does your heart notice?
What does your heart notice?
I'm just asking,
What is here for my heart?
What is here?
What is the larger reality?
What is it that love,
The source of love,
The Divine has for me in this place,
In addition to all that I'm also witnessing and experiencing?
What is here?
There is so much just from allowing yourself to be present with what's true and to face it.
It's very natural to want to get away from discomfort and it is such a useful quality to develop the willingness to be with discomfort without reacting or trying to fix.
And calling the name of the Divine through your open heart,
The open doorway in your heart over and over again.
Wondering,
Curious.
Un- Un- And asking for your heart to be opened.
With a nice gentle breath,
Just noticing anything that you may have received or experienced during this remembrance.
And if you can find authentic gratitude and appreciation,
Letting yourself express that to the Divine.
And another gentle full breath.
If you wish,
You may stay in remembrance as long as you like.
Or,
If now is the time for you to return your attention to your day,
Bring your attention back.
And let your attention return to the world.
Peace upon you.
