Hello,

My name is Marjorie.

I have a question for you.

When do you feel most calm and relaxed?

Is it when you are still or is it when you can move your body freely?

Sometimes your body likes to move.

Your body is moving on the inside even when you are still.

Your rib cage expands with every breath.

Your heart pumps blood through your body energising every cell.

Something else that can look still on the surface but is still moving on the inside or underneath is the ocean.

Even when it might look still and calm there is always movement underneath just like in your body.

Today I invite you on an adventure under the sea.

You are welcome to join in or if you would like to just be in your space and listen to my words that is okay too.

And if you drift off into your own undersea adventure that could be a nice exploration for you.

You may like to be seated or lying down or you can even be standing.

Choose what feels right for you today.

Have enough space around you.

It might feel pleasing for your body to move during the meditation.

You know best how your body enjoys moving.

Let us start under the water with slow movements.

Swaying,

Moving,

Rocking.

You are going to be the sea grass or the seaweed held to the bottom of the sea floor.

Your base is firm to the ground.

Can you feel your body being held by the ocean floor?

You might feel peaceful in your body.

Follow your own rhythm and flow.

Your arms might like to float your upper body like it is swaying under the sea.

Feel the movement soothe your body.

Swaying.

Feel the gentle rhythm of the tide rocking.

Your arms can move around like long blades of sea grass being moved by the current.

Some may float out to the side or the other.

Maybe above you or long underneath you.

As you reach out they are all around you and maybe they get tangled.

Welcome the movement,

Flow and touch.

If you are laying down your legs might move as if they were the sea grass too.

You could lift them into the air.

Let them move gently in the underwater flow.

As your body moves you might become curious about your breath.

What does it feel like in your body?

As you move around do you take big or small breaths?

As you reach up do you feel that you want to take a breath in or are you blowing your breath out?

Feel your breath inside of you.

Without changing your breath explore here what it feels like to breathe in your body as you move.

You are the precious seaweed.

You are the protection and shelter for lots of sea creatures.

Where they go to feel safe.

We are joined by some sea creatures who each have different feelings and emotions that need nurturing.

With your gentle touch invite them in.

Here is a very sleepy sea horse.

She is tired and weary from her journey and needs something to hold on to.

Reach out your fingers for her to grasp onto.

Help her feel safe.

I am safe.

Along comes a cranky crab crawling along the ocean floor.

Let's welcome him in and find him a place to hold him with his troubles.

Help him feel safe.

I am safe.

Jealous jellyfish is here now.

She is bobbing above the sea grass.

She is going to float down and rest in your lap.

Help her feel safe.

I am safe.

Curious clownfish.

He is a cheeky one.

You might have to play a game of catch to get him to come and find shelter.

Where will you nurture him?

You will find the best place for him.

Help him feel safe.

I am safe.

Bored barnacles on the way.

They might take a while.

Can you slump your grass down to welcome them in?

You might have to reach out to help them along.

Help them feel safe.

I am safe.

Let's welcome them in to our protection,

No matter how they feel.

You might like to think of some other sea creatures or emotions that you could welcome into the nurturing protection of your sea grass.

The sea creatures and emotions need the gentle caress of the sea grass with your soft hands gently massaging or stroking them.

It might feel delightful to give yourself a massage with your fingertips gently touching your head and neck,

Your shoulders and arms,

Your chest and your tummy and your legs and your feet.

Ride the waves.

You might continue to sway and move with the tide or you might come into stillness.

Take some time here to breathe with all of our creatures and their feelings.

You might notice some of your own feelings and emotions.

The sea grass will hold them too.

Nice slow breaths.

Feel the sensations in your body.

How are you feeling?

Take some refreshing breaths.

We all have different feelings throughout the day and we can make our feelings feel safe by showing them kindness.

Sometimes our emotions just need to be welcomed intently.

Our adventure is coming to an end now.

It is time to go to the surface.

Be yourself,

Your tender loving self.

Join me again soon.
