Thank you for joining me for the Animal Body Scan.
Meditation is a wonderful time to allow your whole body to relax and drift into the most wonderful inner experience.
Allow your body to be held by the earth,
Whether you are seated,
Laying down or you could even be standing and moving.
This is your time to connect with your inner self.
This means you may like to follow the words I am offering or you may like to drift into your own sacred space.
I am holding this sacred space for you to feel at home in yourself with curiosity and playfulness.
If you are not ready to close your eyes it could be relaxing for you to blink your eyelids in time with your breath,
Opening your eyes as you inhale and closing your eyes down as you exhale.
Start to feel any sensations in your body.
As you begin to feel the sensations in your body you might bring your attention to your head.
If you like you could imagine you have the head of a lion,
A magnificent mane,
The king of the animal kingdom.
It might feel natural for you to bring your hands to your head,
Feeling where your mane would be.
Your hands may be touching your head or they could be just touching the outer edges of the fur of the mane,
Your auric space.
A unique,
Intriguing,
Splendid mane just like your brain.
Take a slightly deeper inhale and allow your head to soften.
Notice any feelings in your nose.
Imagine if you had a nose like an elephant,
A long grey trunk.
Take a long slow breath in,
Feel the length of your trunk.
Your nose can sense far off smells or water and perhaps danger.
Allow a slow,
Gentle breath out.
You are safe here.
Take a slightly deeper inhale and allow your nose to soften.
Feel the sensations of your neck.
Imagine you have the neck of a giraffe.
You would be so tall you could see over trees.
It may feel nice to bring movement to your neck.
Take a slightly deeper inhale and allow your neck to soften.
Become interested in the area of your chest.
This is the area of your body where you may feel strong like a gorilla's chest.
Feel your rib cage expand as if your chest was as broad as a gorilla's chest.
You could beat your fists on your chest.
Feel the strength within you.
Take a slightly deeper inhale and allow your chest to soften.
Feel the sensations of your arms.
You could imagine arms like a koala,
Furry with strong claws to climb the tallest trees,
Maybe like the ones near your house.
Take a slightly deeper inhale and allow your arms to soften.
Feel the weight of your hips being held by the earth.
Heavy hips like a hippo.
Hips help you move throughout the day and allow you to sit and relax when you are tired.
Take a slightly deeper inhale and allow your hips to soften.
What sensations can you feel in your legs?
You could imagine grasshopper legs,
Springy and strong,
Can jump great distances in a single bound.
Jump so high from tree to tree without coming to the ground.
Hips help you run fast and play with your friends.
Take a slightly deeper inhale and allow your legs to soften.
Notice your feet.
They could be duck feet.
You could walk over mud with ease and swim through the water effortlessly.
Take a slightly deeper inhale and allow your feet to soften.
Feel the sensations of your whole body here.
What a beautiful day for you to enjoy.
Feel your luxurious mane like a lion.
Your nose like an elephant.
Your neck like a giraffe.
Your chest like a gorilla.
Your arms like a koala.
Your hips like a hippo.
Your legs like a grasshopper.
Your feet like ducks feet.
Take some time here to feel the sensations in your body.
Your head.
Your nose.
Your neck.
Your chest.
Your arms.
Your hips.
Your legs.
Your feet.
Become aware of the space around you.
Wriggle your fingers and toes.
It may feel glorious to stretch your body as if you've just woken from a sleep.
Gently open your eyes and go on about your day.
