Hello,

My name is Marjorie Gardner and I'm from Embody Hope and Joy.

This is my I miss you meditation.

I miss you children.

Well yes,

While I've written this for my own children,

I sense that this message is for all children and adults who have big feelings about being separated from their loved ones.

Even if it's just to go away to the kitchen to get a snack.

There are so many reasons people are going to miss people.

Going to work.

Work for travel.

School.

Hospital visits.

Break up.

Moving away.

And long distance relationships.

And I'm certain there are even many more.

What or whomever you are missing today,

Let's take some time here to remember and ponder.

Think of the happy times.

What I'm offering you here is space,

Time and permission to feel your feelings in a safe place.

Are you cuddled up,

Maybe in your bed,

A cozy spot on the sofa?

Or are you under a shady tree in the park or garden?

Sense the ground beneath you.

Feel the textures of what your body is resting on.

Could you make yourself just a little bit more comfortable?

Soften your face and ears.

Allow a gentle smile.

There are so many emotions we go through every day.

You might have big feelings.

You might have softer feelings.

You might have feelings of loneliness,

Frustration or perhaps something you can't quite describe yet.

You don't have to hold these emotions back.

Here now in this space to breathe,

Take five deep breaths.

In through your nose like you're smelling something delicious like a chocolate cake cooking in the oven.

And as you blow out through your mouth,

Imagine you're inflating a balloon.

Let's try five breaths together.

It might feel nice to place one hand on your heart and the other hand on your tummy.

Let's allow five breaths here again.

I offer you space for your sadness.

I offer space for any grief.

I offer space for yourself to fall apart.

I offer space to breathe deeply.

Space to heal and allow yourself to feel nurtured and nurture these emotions within you.

Allow yourself this time for any sadness or emotions or melancholy in your body.

Where do you feel the sensations in your body?

Take note of your body's sensations.

As you allow these emotions to surface,

Offer a tender touch or a kind thought to that area or it might feel natural to move your body.

Let's take five breaths here.

Allow your body to move if it feels.

Your body does know how to heal itself with these emotions.

Some need to be moved,

Sensed,

Touched or even given a voice.

Breathe,

Grieve,

Sorrow,

Mourn,

Suffering,

Fall apart.

Breathe in,

Heal,

Celebrate.

Space to love,

Space for gratitude.

Honour the breath in your body.

Feel your chest rise and fall.

Be there for yourself.

Show yourself kindness.

Hold space for vulnerability.

Your fear,

Your regret,

Your gratitude.

Find your voice to say,

I miss you.

I love,

I am loved.

I will heal,

I am healing.

I am breathing,

I have strength.

I manage my grief.

Breathe in and out.

This brings us to the end of this practice.

Perhaps you might like to listen to some of your favourite uplifting music and practice this gentle breathing.

When you listen to your favourite uplifting music it can increase positive thoughts and feelings.

I hope you have enjoyed this practice and will share it with your friends and family.

Thank you.

Such a lovely meditation. Thank you! Today I'm missing my brother Virgil. It's his birthday today and he died in January. He was only 63. My heart is broken...I miss him.
