This is a meditation for grounding.
Make yourself comfortable in any way that feels good to you.
That can be sitting up,
Laying down,
Cross-legged,
Or your legs stretched out.
Whatever feels right.
Knowing that there is no right or wrong choice.
Just honoring what feels good for you.
And from that position,
Take a deep breath in and take a big stretch.
Arms overhead,
Legs stretched out.
And on your exhale,
Release.
Taking another deep inhale and clenching all of the muscles in your body as tight as you can.
And exhale and release.
And if it feels comfortable and safe to do so,
I invite you to close your eyes.
If you would rather keep your eyes open and soften your gaze,
You can do that now.
And begin by just watching the rhythm of your breath.
Feel the rise and the fall of your chest and of your belly.
Witnessing the sensation of the breath in your lungs.
Filling up and protecting your heart space.
Witnessing the temperature of the air in your nose.
Cool on the inhale.
Warm on the exhale.
Then bringing your attention to the sensation of the support beneath you.
Whatever it is you're sitting or laying on,
Trace the outline of that support against your body.
Feeling it hold you up.
And then visualize the support below that.
Whether it's the floor or the foundation of the building you're in.
And then feel into the support of the earth beneath that.
And with all of those layers of support holding you,
Cradling you,
See if you can allow yourself to get just a little bit heavier.
Begin to feel an activation in the bridges of your feet and in your sitting bones.
Whatever that means for you,
Maybe it's a tingling or a spark or a warmth.
A tiny whisper of life.
And from that activation visualize roots beginning to grow.
One giant root growing from the space between your hips and smaller roots coming out of your feet.
The smaller roots just as powerful as the large one.
And all of these roots crashing through the floor,
Through the foundation of the building you're in.
Diving deep into the soil,
Through the many layers of the earth,
Until they settle at the earth's core.
Feeling yourself rooted,
Secure,
Centered right where you are.
And imagine on your in-breaths that you are bringing in Mother Earth's medicine coming up through the roots in your feet and into your hips.
Sourcing you with security,
Compassion,
Stability,
And life force.
And when that earth medicine reaches your body,
It flushes out any fear,
Worry,
Doubt,
Any anger,
Frustration,
Overwhelm,
Anxiety.
Your out-breath sends all of those things back through the root into the earth.
Breathing in the earth's medicine.
Breathing out what you no longer want to carry.
Allowing the earth to gladly absorb it from you and alchemize it into something new.
Because that's what the earth does.
Breathing in her nourishment breathing out your heaviness.
Allowing those roots to feel strong and sturdy yet light.
Allowing them to be the source of your stability and the source of your freedom.
Breathing in more of that medicine.
And feeling all of the tension,
All of the heaviness.
Any anxious flutters just drip out of your body into the earth.
Any anxious flutters just drip out of your body into the earth.
Allowing yourself to trust in the support and the love of the earth.
And in your own ability to ground yourself down.
And as you continue to breathe in that earth medicine visualize yourself coming to life in whatever way that is beautiful and true to you.
A product being nurtured and blooming.
Coming into your own rooted and strong.
Light.
Brilliant.
Infinite.
Breathing deeply and slowly.
Allowing this earth magic to sink into every pore.
Emptying out your lungs.
Taking a deep breath in through the nose.
Holding it at the top.
Locking in this feeling of nourishment,
Stability and groundedness.
And release that breath.
Beginning to witness the touch of your body on the surface below you.
Once again bringing yourself back into the space.
Feeling the air move through your lungs.
Feeling the peace in your soul.
And knowing that you have access to this nourishment from the earth anytime you choose.
