Hello and welcome to this space.
My name is Maya and I'm so happy to be here with you today.
So for this meditation we are going to do a very simple grounding visualization.
This is a really good one if you are feeling a little ungrounded,
If you are having a hard time settling into your body.
Just open yourself to receive what is meant for you in this moment and see where it takes you.
Alright?
So to begin,
I'll just get you to get settled into your space.
Make sure that you're somewhere where you will not be disturbed for a few minutes and you feel safe to just really relax and be present with yourself.
And when you feel ready,
You can soften your gaze so that it rests somewhere on the horizon or you can gently close your eyes.
Just check in.
How are you feeling in this moment?
You can notice any thoughts that are moving through your mind,
If there's any looping patterns,
Any voices that are trying to get your attention.
Just acknowledge them and let them be.
You don't have to fix anything in this moment.
We are just stepping into a space of presence.
You can check in with your body.
Notice if there is any aches or pains that are coming to the surface.
And again,
Just notice.
There's no need to judge this as good or bad.
It's simply your experience in this moment.
I'm going to invite you to bring your attention and your awareness down into the heart space,
Into the breath.
And we're going to focus here for a few moments,
Just watching the rise and fall of the breath.
When thoughts come up as they are prone to do,
Just let them be.
Bring your attention back to where you want it to be in this moment,
Which is on the rise and fall of your breath.
You may notice that as you anchor your attention here,
Your breath naturally begins to deepen.
Your shoulders begin to soften down away from your ears.
And you are able to drop more fully into presence.
This doesn't need to be perfect.
There is no one right way to do this meditation.
Just come back to the breath.
Beautiful.
Now I'm going to invite you to imagine yourself in a forest.
You're surrounded by beautiful ancient trees.
You feel the earth beneath you.
You sense the moss,
The ferns growing next to the roots of these ancient beings,
These ancient trees that rise up from the forest floor to reach for the sky.
One tree in particular calls to you.
So you begin to walk towards it.
You can feel the depth of her presence.
Her roots anchor deep into the earth.
The crown of her branches reaching for the blue sky beyond the forest canopy.
You stop just before her trunk.
Placing your hand on the skin of her bark.
Just anchoring yourself in her presence.
You can feel the weight of all the years she has lived.
Everything she has seen across the span of time.
Far beyond the life that you have lived.
And you feel her love wrap around your body.
She is so very glad that you are here with her now.
As you sit with this tree,
Come to understand that the depth of her roots is what enables her to grow so tall.
To reach for the heavens.
You sense the connection that she has with her kin beneath the ground.
The mycelial networks that allow them to communicate.
Allow them to sense what the other may need.
And you're going to imagine yourself dropping a grounding cord down from the root of your tailbone.
And it descends into the core of the earth.
Tangling with the roots of this forest.
So you feel as though you are one with them.
Feel the strength that the earth gives you.
Feel how you are a part of everything that exists.
You are a part of nature.
Just as these trees find their strength from the earth.
From the soil beneath their roots.
You too can draw your strength from knowing that you are a part of this.
You are a part of the tapestry of life.
So from this grounding cord,
Warm yellow energy begins to move up through your feet.
Through your ankles.
Melting away any excess tension you may be holding there.
Moving up through your thighs.
Through your hips.
This warm grounding light continues to move up through your belly.
Spreading across your low back.
Moving up through your ribcage,
Through your diaphragm.
Anchors itself in your heart space.
Back of your heart.
And your chest.
So you feel safe to take a deeper breath.
This warm light continues to move down through your fingertips.
So through every part of your arm.
Acknowledging the strength that exists within your arms.
And everything that they do for you in a day.
This light continues to move down through your fingertips.
Up through your throat chakra.
Through your jaw.
Melting away any tension that may be lingering in your face.
Until this light emerges through the top of your head.
Reaching for the heavens.
Reaching for the skies.
You feel both entirely rooted.
And open to the expansiveness that wants to move through you.
You sense the truth of the creativity that wants to birth through your life.
You sense the truth of who you are.
That it is safe to embrace and embody this fully.
For the tree reminds you that there is wisdom in your being.
That you don't need to be anything that you're not.
There is a reason that you came into this life in exactly the way that you are.
And there is immense love for you.
Regardless of what it is that you do.
Or make or create.
What you give to this world.
Your presence is more than enough.
And take a deep breath in through the nose.
And exhale,
Let it go.
I'm going to allow this meditation to slowly dissolve.
Come back to the room where you began.
You can feel your fingers,
Feel your toes.
And just check in with yourself.
How are you feeling now in this moment?
And trust that you carry the strength of this forest with you.
You carry this remembrance with you into the rest of your day,
The rest of your week.
Knowing that it is safe to take up space and be exactly as you are.
And bring your hands together over your heart space.
Just thank yourself for showing up for you today.
You can stay here for as long as you need.
Whenever you feel ready,
You can open your eyes.
