When life doesn’t go according to plan, we can often have one of two initial reactions: we either seek to blame someone or something beyond ourselves, or we look within to see what we might have done wrong. We may lose faith in our ability to navigate the world and make sound decisions based on the options presented before us. We may seek to control certain outcomes. Self-trust can be built in precisely these moments. It is built in the way we learn to stay with ourselves through every pivot, in the way we honour our doubts & fears and yet choose to move forward anyway. In this meditation, you will be guided through a visualization to invoke the power of fire, to transmute the thoughts that no longer serve you and burn away doubtful energies. Take this moment to be with yourself & reclaim your inner fire. You are capable of the life you dream of.

Hello and welcome to this space.

My name is Maya and I'm going to be guiding you through this meditation today.

So this meditation you may find helpful if you are having a hard time trusting yourself,

If you've been experiencing a lot of doubt lately.

This is a meditation to reclaim self-trust and we're going to be working with the element of fire.

So with that said,

I will just invite you to get settled into your space.

Make sure you're somewhere where you will not be disturbed for a few minutes and you feel safe to really just relax and settle into this moment.

You can shift your weight from side to side,

Make sure that you are in a comfortable seated position and when you feel ready you can close your eyes.

Or if you do not feel safe to do so,

Just rest your gaze gently somewhere on the horizon.

So we're just going to begin by bringing the attention and awareness down into the breath,

Following the inhales and the exhales at the natural pace that your body wants to move at today.

Notice where you're most aware of the breath,

If you're feeling the expansion and contraction of your chest,

Of your diaphragm,

Or you may want to focus your awareness on the belly.

You may find as you focus your attention on the breath that the breath naturally begins to deepen.

Notice if you are bracing in your shoulders or in your jaw and just see if you can let that tension relax.

There is nothing you need to fight against in this moment.

You are safe,

You are held,

You are protected.

Continue to follow the breath.

You can take a nice deep inhale through the nose.

Open your mouth and sigh it out.

Letting yourself arrive here in this moment.

You're going to imagine a bonfire forming in front of you so you can see yourself somewhere outside.

Maybe it's your backyard,

Maybe it's your favorite park.

And it's a crisp,

Chilly day.

It's one of those perfect days for a bonfire.

You've laid the logs out in a circle and you've lit the flame already.

The fire is burning strong.

You can feel its heat on your body against the chill in the air.

As you watch the flames flicker and dance,

You instinctively know that this fire mirrors the flames that exist within you.

The fire that exists in your solar plexus.

In Ayurveda,

There is this concept called Agni,

Which is your internal flames,

Your internal fire.

Just knowing as you're watching this bonfire burn before you,

You are stoking your internal flames.

Let the fire rise within you,

Feeling your power,

Feeling how strong and courageous you are.

And in this space,

As you sit here with this fire,

You feel safe enough to let your doubts come to the surface.

So there's a stack of papers beside you,

Torn into little pieces,

And you pick up a pen.

You pick up one of these pieces of paper and you place it on your lap.

And you just begin to write down the first doubt that comes to mind.

Maybe it's something someone said to you when you were a child.

Maybe it's something you believe about yourself in your quietest moments.

Those shameful,

Doubtful thoughts that we all carry somewhere in the back of our minds.

You're gonna write the first one down.

Don't overthink it.

Whatever comes to mind is correct.

And when you're done writing that doubt on this piece of paper,

You're gonna fold the piece of paper and you're gonna toss it into the flames.

And you pick up the next piece of paper.

You write the next doubt that comes to mind.

The next thing you believe about yourself that is not empowering,

That makes you feel small.

Maybe you feel like you are not enough.

Maybe you feel like people don't want you around.

Maybe you think you're not strong enough to take the next step towards whatever it is you have been dreaming of.

You're just gonna write that fear,

That doubt down on this piece of paper.

You're gonna fold it up and toss it into the flames.

Let that doubt burn away.

Let the fire transmute the fear,

The pain,

The shame,

The doubt.

Let it turn to smoke before your eyes.

We're gonna continue with this visualization.

As you feel right in your own rhythm,

You can pick up a piece of paper and write down your next doubt,

Your next fear.

You toss it into the flames and watch it burn.

And as you're letting go of these doubts and these fears,

You can feel comforted by the warmth of the fire,

By the grass beneath you,

The nature that is surrounding you.

Just knowing that you are held as you let go of these fears,

These doubts,

These things that have been holding you back.

You don't need these anymore.

You don't need these beliefs.

It's safe to let them go.

It's safe to trust yourself.

It's safe to call your power back,

To reclaim the truth that resides within you.

One last thing,

I'm going to invite you to pick up one last piece of paper and you're gonna write down one thing that you have been calling into your life.

The one thing that you deeply desire that if you trusted yourself enough,

You would begin to move towards.

Maybe it's a secret,

Quiet,

Private dream that you haven't told anyone.

And just write it down on the piece of paper.

You can be as detailed as you wish.

You can be as simple as you feel called to be.

And once you have written down this desire,

You're gonna fold the piece of paper and hold it to your chest and just infuse it with all your love.

Send all your love into this piece of paper.

You can imagine this piece of paper being infused with the warm golden light from the fire and all the ways you are learning to trust yourself.

And when you feel ready,

You're going to toss this piece of paper into the fire as well.

And let the fire transmute this desire.

Let it be carried up to the stars,

The skies,

The realms beyond this one.

So that you begin to whisper it into existence.

So you find the trust and the strength within you to move towards the secret dream.

Or not so secret if you've told many people about it.

But knowing that the fire within you is here to support you to move towards everything that you want in this life.

Knowing that as you walk this path,

You may decide that something is not quite what you thought you wanted.

And that's okay too.

You can come back to the fire,

You can let it burn,

You can let the fire transmute your attachment to this thing.

You can let it grow into something new.

You can trust yourself enough to walk this journey.

And to find your way with grace and ease and self compassion.

And you can trust that as you walk this path,

You are so held.

Slowly,

We're going to begin to let this visualization fade.

And we're going to come back to your body.

Place one hand on either shoulder and you can just give yourself a hug.

Thanking yourself for showing up for you today,

For the courage that you had to let go of all these doubts,

All these fears,

All these things that have been holding you back.

When you feel ready,

You can open your eyes.
