Giving yourself a few moments here to settle in.
Whether you're seated or laying down,
Your body invites you to notice it.
Becoming aware of any subtle adjustments that still need to be done.
Wiggling your toes or fingers,
Adjusting your seat,
Letting the tension in your shoulders find comfort and support.
Whatever it is,
Just feel yourself here,
Feeling,
Observing what else your body may need to feel comfortable for this journey ahead.
And then from here,
Taking a deep inhale into your belly,
Also allowing the chest to rise with it.
And then exhaling it all out,
Followed by yet another full inhale,
Just feeling the flow of air,
How it is entering your body.
And then allowing it to all be exhaled so naturally,
One more of this kind,
With this third exhale to be one that lets you settle even more into you,
Into your support.
Whether you're seated or laying down,
Here you may find rest now.
The rest that you deserve,
That your body needs,
Any support and nourishment welcomed during this time of sickness,
Whether it's a cold,
A flu,
Or something else impeding your vitality,
This here is now your space and opportunity to just be.
And with this now being said,
You're invited to feel your body as one beautiful whole entity,
Letting your awareness cover your entire body without judgment,
Without the need to even analyze.
You're just here sensing your body in this state of sickness without judgment,
Yet with curiosity,
Curiosity to find where you may feel the center,
The epicenter,
So to speak,
Of your sickness.
Where do you feel your sickness most within you?
It might be one particular area or your body as one all over your body.
Wherever you do feel,
There I invite you and your awareness to move to fully,
Letting yourself land in this one place,
Even if this one place is all of your body.
Can you allow yourself to find some rest here simply by going a little deeper into this space,
Feeling a little more curious about the nuances that you might feel?
And of course the mind may judge it as discomfort or even pain,
But what if you're giving yourself the opportunity here to just sense it for what it is as it is without judgment or analysis?
Can you sense these sensations that your sickness has brought on just for the sake of sensing them,
Feeling them,
Experiencing them,
Even just for these next few moments without judgment,
Without the need to label,
Just feeling?
And when the mind does return with thoughts,
Labels for what you're experiencing and whatever else,
Simply return to the space that you were just in,
Letting your awareness land there again.
This time it will be easier to return because you've been before.
And then once more,
Just feeling the space and the sensations present within this space.
By simply being here,
Being present with these sensations,
You're holding space for yourself,
For your body while it is experiencing the sickness.
You're acknowledging it.
You're acknowledging yourself for what you're experiencing.
You're showing that you care and that you're so beautifully here for yourself.
So please continue to feel the space,
Subtleties of the sensations,
And maybe even noticing how one sensation fades away,
Giving room,
Making space for another to arise,
A new sensation that can be felt by you as well,
Acknowledged in this way by you,
Bringing awareness into all these sensations and the space.
You're allowing for the energy to flow more freely again.
You're allowing yourself to process,
Not just physically,
But also on other planes,
Processing the sickness with its physical and non-physical elements,
Letting the energy flow so that it can eventually flow out of you again,
Leaving your body in its innate state of good health,
Vitality,
Strength,
And love.
And speaking of love,
The space that you are still in or now once more returning to,
I invite you to envision a gentle glimmer of light that begins to flicker and then slowly,
Steadily become a constant glow of white,
Golden,
Glimmering light pulsating subtly,
Softly within this space and slowly growing here.
Can you allow yourself to feel this light growing ever so gently,
Engulfing the sensations that are present within the space,
The ones that you have not labeled as well as the ones that your mind has labeled as discomfort or pain.
This light is now engulfing,
Enveloping all of these as it continues to grow larger,
Becoming a ball of light,
Still gently pulsating,
White,
Golden,
Shimmering,
Growing,
Growing,
And growing within you,
Almost sparkling at times as it envelops more and more of that that you feel as sickness.
And as the light continues to grow,
You may notice how there is a sense of rest spreading with it,
A sense of ease spreading through your state of dis-ease,
Of sickness.
You're beginning to sense some soft peacefulness here.
And when the mind does return,
Making you aware of your situation,
The discomfort of the sickness,
You return to the golden,
Whitish,
Glimmering light that continues to grow,
Just feeling how it spreads more and more.
Just feeling how it spreads more and more,
Maybe no longer just within you,
But now beyond you too,
A cleansing,
Healthful light engulfing everything that is currently challenging you in this state of sickness.
And you're just here to witness by feeling whatever sensations are brought on by this healing light,
This comforting light.
Rest is what you're giving yourself with each moment that passes,
And it has been deepening for many moments,
Many minutes.
Each minute,
Each moment representing an opportunity that you're gifting your body and yourself to recover,
Rejuvenate,
And heal yourself from what you're experiencing all by simply being with it,
Present,
Feeling it.
Feeling it.
When the mind takes you away from this light,
You are now so familiar and swift in your ability to return within,
Envisioning the light once again,
And feeling its effects,
And the residue of ever so gentle calmness and peace that it leaves behind,
That it leaves behind maybe even other effects unique just to you.
And with your awareness still remaining on and within this light,
I now invite you to place your right hand over your heart and then your left hand.
This is to acknowledge yourself and the time you have been spending with yourself,
Holding the space for you,
Caring for you so lovingly,
Letting love spread in the form of light all throughout you and maybe even beyond you.
This is your innate state of good health radiating from within your center into all parts of your body that are currently experiencing a state of sickness.
But deep within you where this light emanates from,
You're innately whole,
Healthful,
Filled with vitality.
And this center you can always return to as a reminder that innately you are beautifully whole and complete.
Healthy and vibrant.
Deep within you,
You are beautiful.
You are love.
Here and now you're invited to be a part of this beautiful world.
To remain for as long as you like,
Engulfed in the residue of all these moments and minutes you've spent caring for yourself,
Supporting yourself as the light that you are.
Give yourself rest as much as you still need.
You deserve it so much.
And remember your center,
Your core from which you may always radiate health,
Peacefulness,
And love.
So be well and continue to feel for as long as you need,
For as long as you desire.
You are love.

Wow... simply wow. I personally find that this meditation doesn't just apply for physical illness, such as a cold, but also when you feel emotionally or mentally stressed. This is one that I will keep handy!
