This yoga nidra will invite you to activate the light within so it's always on for you, even in the dark. You will get more and more comfortable with the creative potential and possibilities that exist in the dark space. This is where seeds sprout, where life is created, where growth occurs. We meet ourselves in the dark. This practice will allow you to rest deeply and find peace in the space between. Music: Chris Collins, indiemusicbox.

Hello,

My name is Lynette and I'll be guiding you through this special yoga nidra practice today where we will find a light in the dark.

So as you get comfortable,

Make sure you are warm and cozy.

Support your body however you need,

Maybe even lightly cover your eyes.

And once you are in your comfy space,

Just scan your body and see if you can make yourself even more comfortable.

What would you do to make yourself 1% more comfortable?

And then as you settle in,

Just feel your body sinking down into your space.

Take a few deep breaths with a few audible sighs out through the mouth.

Do this a few times until you feel like you're physically starting to unclench and relax just a little bit more.

Now as you relax more and more,

I invite you to think about something and don't think about it too much,

Just feel that initial feeling.

What is your initial feeling when you think about the dark?

The darkness.

What does the darkness mean to you?

Or dark?

There's no right or wrong answer,

You're just being curious about yourself and your perspective.

And as we settle into this practice,

We will play with the idea of darkness being a womb-like space,

A safe space of dark illumination.

We are safe here and we are connected to this divine source energy.

This darkness can be a beautiful space of creation where life is literally created.

The creation of our ideas and our visions.

We create in this space between no longer and not yet.

So sit and pause in this space between and take a few more deep breaths as you feel yourself sinking down into the darkness around you and down into the support beneath you.

And just feel yourself held here in the support,

Just like a parent holds a child.

You are supported.

And as you sink down into this dark space,

Imagine this healing gentle white light around your whole body like you are nestling into a womb space or a cocoon space.

And you're floating in your nourishing breath.

Breathing in,

Big exhale out.

And just feel yourself being held here in this bubble of light.

And this is where we begin the practice of yoga nidra.

So as you feel yourself softening more and more,

Bring to your heart the feeling of how you would like to feel.

Start to feel or envision or think about a quality you'd like to add to your life.

When you think of you as your most integrated highest self,

What does that feel like?

What is that word?

What does it feel like to be grateful,

Well-resourced,

Lit up,

At peace,

Loved,

Content,

Safe?

Whatever your word is,

Let's put it into a phrase.

I am blank.

And repeat this to yourself at least three times and let it feel like these gentle ripples,

Almost like these ripples of warm water floating around you,

Pulsing out around you.

And as you're held and supported,

You feel this gentle pulsing moving around you,

Nourishing you as you repeat your phrase,

I am three times.

Now let your words go and let your statement go and let the energy just infuse into the space around you.

Taking a few more breaths,

Bobbing in the rhythm of your own breath,

Feeling nourished here.

And start to bring all of your felt awareness to the light of your own heart,

Even as you rest here in the dark.

You might even imagine yourself stepping into a dark cave,

The dark cave of your heart.

But within the dark cave,

There is this beautiful flicker of light within you that never goes out.

It's always there burning brightly,

Offering you guidance and wisdom.

And so just drop into this dark cave with this flickering light.

And like you would pick up a lantern or you would carry a candle around a dark room when the electricity is out,

Let this light guide you and watch how it illuminates each part of your body,

Starting with the center of your heart.

And feel what this illumination feels like.

Do you feel a warmth at the center of your heart?

Do you feel a sense of gratitude like you are okay in this moment?

Maybe you feel the feeling of faith like you are safe and everything is working out for you.

Now walk this light up to the center of your throat.

From the throat,

Move over to the right shoulder.

And this light streams down the right arm all the way to the wrist,

And into the palm of your hand,

And back of your hand,

And into all of your fingers and your thumb all together.

And just the tips of your fingers and thumb on the right hand.

Like you have streams of light shining out of your fingertips.

And this awareness travels back up the arm to the right shoulder,

And back to your throat center,

Where you see this light melting any ice at the center of your throat.

And this light moves over to the left shoulder,

And it travels all the way down the left arm to the wrist,

The palm of your hand,

And the back of your hand,

And all of your fingers and thumb together.

And the light moves into just the tips of your fingers and your thumb.

Like this light is streaming out through the tips of your fingers and thumb.

And this awareness moves all the way back up your arm to your shoulder,

And back to the center of your throat.

And you carry this lantern of light,

This flickering light with you down to the heart,

And all the way down to your womb space,

Your belly,

The lower belly,

Your pelvis,

Filling this lower area with beautiful healing light,

Light warming you at your center.

And this flicker of light moves to the right hip,

And streams all the way down your right leg to your ankle,

Your heel,

The sole of your right foot,

The top of your foot,

And into all of your toes all together,

And into just the tips of your toes,

Light streaming out the tips of your toes.

And your awareness travels all the way back up to your right hip,

And gently glides over to your left hip,

And travels all the way down the left leg to your ankle,

The heel,

The sole of your left foot,

The top of your foot,

And all of your toes together,

And streaming out of just the tips of your toes.

Your awareness will move all the way back up to the left hip,

And back to the center of your pelvis,

Like there is this chalice or bowl filling with light,

Filling with light,

Overflowing with light,

And streaming all the way down the right leg,

And all the way down the left leg,

And you feel both legs together.

This light will travel now to the back of your heels,

The back of your ankles,

And the back of your calves,

Up the back of your knees,

And the back of your upper legs,

Streaming up the back of your pelvis,

And landing at your lower back,

Filling your low back with this warm,

Healing light.

You even feel it in the right kidney,

Just below the ribcage,

And the left kidney,

Below the ribcage,

And then just feeling both kidneys together,

The low back,

The low ribcage area,

Warm and nourished by this light,

Warmth along your whole lower back,

And this light travels up the spine,

All the way up to the back of your neck,

And the back of your head is supported with light,

And it streams down the forehead to your eyebrows,

Relaxing your right eyebrow,

And left eyebrow,

And both eyebrows together,

Lighting up the right eye,

And the left eye,

And both eyes illuminating,

So you can see clearly.

This light travels down the bridge of your nose,

To the tip of your nose,

And down to your lips,

Your teeth,

Your tongue,

Filling the darkness of the inside of your mouth with light,

And this light drops down into the middle of your head,

Between your ears,

Filling this dark space with light,

Your pineal gland illuminated,

Activated,

And relax your whole face together,

Your whole face and head all together,

Your whole face and head and neck together,

And this light drops back down to the cave of your heart,

Rest here in the cave of your heart,

With this beautiful light,

Shining a light,

Filling your heart,

As you relax your whole body,

Relax your whole body,

Allow yourself to float,

In this beautiful light,

This light flickers in the dark,

You feel your body breathing,

And you float in the waves of your breath,

As you inhale,

You fill with even more light,

Illuminating the darkness,

And as you exhale,

You relax,

With each inhale,

The light around you gets brighter and brighter,

And as you exhale,

You continue to relax,

And rest in this bubble of light,

Inhale,

Expand this light out all around you,

Exhale,

Relax your body,

Inhale,

You feel the light getting brighter and brighter within you,

And around you,

And as you exhale,

You relax more and more,

In this bubble of light,

And I invite you to keep breathing like this,

11 more times,

Counting backwards from 11 to 1,

Inhale,

The light gets brighter,

Exhale,

Relax more and more,

Breathing in,

Breathing out,

11 to 1,

Now you can stop counting,

And just continue to relax your body,

Floating in the waves of breath,

Relax your whole body,

Bring your awareness to your closed eyes,

Like you're watching a movie with your eyes closed,

And start to imagine a golden doorway,

The doorway is gold,

The doorknob is gold,

And as you stand on one side of this door,

You are immersed in complete darkness,

You can only see the light of the golden doorway,

But you stand anchored and grounded and safe in the dark,

You can't see around you,

You are immersed in the darkness of all possibilities,

Even though you don't know what comes next,

You know you are surrounded by possibilities,

Now place your hand on the golden doorknob and slowly open the door,

As you open the door and step through the doorway,

You are standing in complete light,

You are illuminated with this diamond like frequency of light,

Lighting up the whole space all around you,

You are immersed in light,

Soaking up this light into every cell of your body,

You still don't know what's around you,

But you do see that every possibility is illuminated,

And now watch yourself walk back through the golden doorway,

Back into the dark,

Once again you are surrounded in darkness,

You are safe,

But it is completely dark,

You can't see around you,

You know you are okay and you know you will be okay,

You know the possibilities are circling around you,

And you stand here feeling grateful for it all,

Even though you can't see it yet,

You are grateful for the solutions,

You are grateful for the opportunities,

Even though you can't see them yet,

With the feeling of gratitude once again step through the golden doorway,

Back into the light,

Surrounded by light,

Your whole body is illuminated with this diamond frequency of light,

These light rays are shining onto your skin,

Your cells soak up every ounce of light,

As your mind feels more and more clear,

You feel bright,

You feel coherent,

You feel clarity streaming in,

As you watch the light illuminate the dark,

And one more time you step through the golden doorway,

Back into the darkness,

Noticing how you feel when you step back into the dark,

As you pause here in the darkness,

You can't see anything around you,

But there's almost an iridescence to the dark,

A magic in the darkness,

Something beautiful and new being created in the darkness,

You had to see the dark before you could see the light,

Everything created in the dark,

Your nervous system settles,

As you recalibrate to the dark,

Grateful for the blessings and the opportunities around you,

Grateful for all you have,

For all of your lessons and grow,

And for all of the possibilities that exist just for you,

Feel how your magic,

Your gifts impact others,

Even though you can't see this in the dark,

You know it is true,

And so you step back one more time into the light,

Through the golden door,

You become immersed in a bright diamond light,

Sparkling and shining just for you,

On you,

Your cells soak up the light,

You are illuminated,

You light up,

You are more than enough,

You know you are enough,

You know you are meant to be here,

Right where you are,

And you know that all is possible because you are here,

Now just rest in this feeling of light,

Diamond light rays soaking into your body,

Shining all around here,

Feeling a heart full of gratitude for all of the love that exists within this light,

Within you and all around you,

You don't have to do anything for it,

It shines for you,

Because you are already whole and complete as you are,

You are loved as you are,

You are already light,

Pause in this diamond light as it shines around you and for you,

And relax your whole body,

Now start to see that this light,

Has illuminated all of the darkness,

There's no more doorway,

You are surrounded by light,

You are surrounded by diamond light,

And this light starts to turn back into your space,

Your place,

Your home,

Your heart,

Your body,

You see yourself come home to yourself just as you are,

And as you start to land back in your space,

Repeat your I am statement again,

I am,

Repeat this statement to yourself a few times until you feel like it's already true,

Feel the frequency of these words around you,

Like the frequency of light,

Like rays of diamond light shining on you and all around you,

This energy,

This light doesn't go anywhere,

It's always with you,

It is you,

As this yoga nidra practice comes to an end,

Continue to feel the frequency of your words,

Of your light,

Of your enoughness,

Of your belonging,

Of your wholeness,

Of your abundance,

Of your gratitude,

Knowing there's always a light in the dark,

Know you can always come home to yourself,

The practice of yoga nidra is now complete,

Take your time as you truly land back in this time in this space,

Come back slowly,

You might gently just rub the index fingers and thumbs together,

Or lick your lips,

Maybe you gently tap the center of your chest,

Reminding yourself of the light that lives here,

Slowly come back,

Take a few deep breaths,

Take your time,

And slowly rise,

That was a deep,

Deep practice,

So move slowly for the next little bit of time,

Or enjoy moving into a nourishing sleep,
