Hello and welcome.

My name is Lee Anderson and I'm very grateful that you've chosen to listen and practice to this meditation with me now.

It's inspired by the full moon and lunar eclipse.

Having said that,

It can be practiced at any time.

You wish to inquire or explore into your shadow side and familiarize yourself with the parts of you that you sometimes dare not go.

So lunar eclipses are an exceptional opportunity to really peer into the magnitude of darkness that hides within your very own light.

But there will be other times where there's something niggling at you,

You're feeling unsettled,

Uneasy and you're not quite sure which way to go or how to reflect back.

Or even how to connect with or process the information or the learnings that are trying to rise up within you and get your attention.

So this practice hopefully will guide you a little closer towards these shadowy areas that have been previously,

Recently or a long time ago hidden so we can rediscover who we originally are.

A lunar eclipse is when the moon's reflecting light is concealed under the Earth's shadow for a period of time,

Maybe about 30 minutes.

It's a very special full moon with great significance and opportunity to practice meditation,

Self-reflection and really deep inner observation of who we really are.

During this meditation you can just consider and reflect on your own shadows and what you might be concealing or hiding away from view.

So you'll be invited to work with both your light and the darkness beneath to reveal and learn all about our essential and original features and the deeper meaning of our lives.

So these hidden and forgotten parts of yourself are often intensely defended so this can be emotional work.

Please practice kindness,

Compassion and forgiveness towards yourself.

Take this practice slowly and gently as the known and possibly the unknown reveal so you can heal and grow into the best version of yourself towards your hopes,

Dreams and your visions and who you were originally meant to be.

And thank you also because in addition to healing yourself you'll inspire healing of the shadows that overcast the collective consciousness and you'll shine light and love and peace onto the world all around you.

So let's begin by allowing ourselves a comfortable meditation posture.

So you might like to sit upright either comfortably on the floor or with cushions underneath you or behind you.

You may like to sit in a chair with your feet resting safely,

Soundly on the floor or you may like to recline back and lie again either on the couch,

The floor or your bed.

But do be aware with lying down because we can get a little bit drowsy with all the focus breath work and you can also fall asleep.

There's nothing wrong with that.

But for the next 20 minutes I really invite you to just stay aware,

A little bit of attention towards the meditation for the opportunity for self reflection and gaining further knowledge.

It'll be worth it,

Absolutely worth it.

So the posture we really want to try and have a long spine or an extended spine and a little bit of symmetry about the body just so that it's easier for the breath to flow and the energies to flow.

So if you were leaning over a hunch to one side,

Well then perhaps the energies may not be able to circulate evenly throughout the body and certainly not effortlessly.

So we want it to be easy for our energies to flow.

Wonderful.

And let's begin by centering the breath.

So you can close your eyes if you wish.

Or just even let them blur a little bit in front of you.

And after an exhale,

Inviting a really full big breath gently,

Gradually and just keep feeling the body expand as you fill up the chest and down into the belly with air becoming breath.

And then slowly,

Gradually let the breath out really gently.

Keep breathing out,

Let it all out.

And then after a short pause,

Just let the body fall back into its natural rhythm of breathing.

So the body knows exactly how much air it needs at any point in time.

So it might be in a little bit of recovery mode for the first few breath cycles and then it'll calm and it'll settle down.

So perhaps practice that again.

After an exhale,

Breathe in beautiful,

Big,

Fresh breath of air.

Really feel it filling your lungs,

Your chest,

Your belly right down to the base of the spine and be aware of your whole body,

Full of breath.

And really gradually exhale and let the breath leave.

Let it take whatever energies it discovers and carries out.

And then allowing the breath to return again to your natural rhythm.

And just notice the breath's natural response to your energy.

Notice the inhalation,

How smooth and graceful it is and how sacred this life-giving force is.

And as you exhale,

Maybe you can imagine any impurities flowing out,

Vanishing out into nothing.

Really feel that release of any tension,

Anything that you've been holding onto.

You can acknowledge that it isn't here in this present moment,

So let it go.

And you can continue the meditation just with your attention,

Following the flow of the breath.

Sensing the feeling of the breath as it moves in and fills your body.

And that subtle change of sensation,

Different feelings of release as you breathe out.

And you may even wish to imagine a pure white lunar energy as you breathe in,

Let it fill your body.

Let it soften and soothe and filter all through every cell.

Pure,

Clean,

Loving.

And as you release your breath,

You may imagine a grey light leaving your body.

So the breath is taking away any impurities,

Any blockages,

Any old ways.

And if the mind wanders,

That's okay.

Just acknowledge that it's wandered off.

And kindly ask your attention to return to the breath as you continue to let go of tension,

Any negative emotions,

Any memories or beliefs that may have been holding you back.

From achieving your best self.

Wonderful.

We'll just set an intention of simply going on a peaceful journey to witness whatever is revealed,

Letting it come to you without any judgement,

Practising acceptance of what is exactly as it is.

And so I invite you to visualise the full moon or maybe you are actually outside sitting under the brilliance of the full moon.

So you can look up or you can imagine its glorious radiance.

It's alluring magnitude and taking all its detail.

Notice its brightness and how this light makes us feel safe.

There's a familiarity and confidence in what we know,

What we expect and what we hope for.

So let the light illuminate and show us clarity.

And with your eyes gently closed,

Allow your inner vision to gaze forward into the blackness behind your eyelids.

Allow your inner vision to peer in deeper,

Deeper into the blackness,

The nothingness,

The endless spaciousness containing infinite possibilities all within your resource,

Your past and your future existence.

When we were born,

We were fully formed,

We are complete,

Perfect,

Exactly as we already are.

But as we grow and become part of this world,

Certain parts of us become hidden.

So maybe our culture or our family have told us that a certain part of ourself is not to be revealed.

We are guided to be like this or to be like that,

That this is right and other things are wrong.

And so we choose to hide parts of us away.

Maybe this is due to shame or embarrassment or maybe it's simply to conform and please others.

But these are the parts of us that become our shadows.

They are still there.

But they are hidden deeper down,

Perhaps even forgotten from our conscious awareness.

However,

We seek our shadow and our shadows seek to be seen outside of us.

So every now and then we see our shadows.

We see them in specks of people that we admire.

And also in the people that we have difficulties with,

Maybe even despise.

So let's tread gently now and take as many moments as you need.

As you bring to mind someone that is very difficult for you.

Someone whose behaviour triggers you in a way that causes you discomfort.

You might even be noticing those feelings of discomfort,

Disease,

Unease rising in you now.

But as best you can,

Simply observe and watch their energy without getting involved or attached to their story.

And ask yourself,

What are the characteristics,

The qualities of this person that I despise?

Perhaps they are selfish or cruel.

Perhaps they are disloyal.

Just bring to mind the qualities.

And with a kind curiosity and honesty,

Take these qualities one at a time and apply them to yourself.

So you can say to yourself,

I am selfish.

I am cruel.

Or whatever the characteristics are.

As you say them,

Just notice the sensations that start to rise up within yourself.

Not to be judgemental,

Just to be aware.

An observant opportunity to just learn more about ourselves.

Because these qualities,

They represent our deepest fears.

They represent our darkness,

What we hide in our shadows.

So this may be the part of ourselves that we fear the most.

So it's natural to have put them away and pushed them down.

But it's just a feeling.

So just notice any or all the sensations and as you breathe out,

Let them pass.

These are the moments that you can peer deeper into the layers of yourself.

Continue to learn as you practice kindness,

Tenderness and love.

So we know that these qualities are simply our fears rolling up to the surface.

Up out of our shadows.

It's not the truth.

It's somebody else's fears,

Don't belong to us.

It's a distortion of who we really are.

A misrepresentation.

But if we've been hiding our truth,

If we've been hiding our light in the shadows.

This only promotes them to become even more extreme versions of itself.

Because we may not be a selfish person.

But we do have the capacity to be selfish.

We may not be cruel,

But we do have the capacity to be cruel or any of these characteristics that you are uncomfortable with when you recognise them.

So let the light of the full moon help us see.

Help us change and transform as we release the old energies.

Breathing in beautiful,

Pure,

Cleansing white light.

Any impurities,

Anything negative.

We shine our light and we can see them.

And as we exhale,

Breathing out,

They can leave.

We can let them go.

We will be seen for the change and we will be seen in a new light.

As a human,

We have the ability to take on any qualities.

So as we continue to discover the inward truths of who we are.

You may also allow your light to show you who you want to become.

So let's now visualise a person that you admire.

Bring to mind someone that you really look up to.

You may know them personally or simply know of them.

But as you contemplate this person,

Consider the qualities and the characteristics that this person has.

Any of the distinguishing attributes that you admire.

Maybe they are confident.

Maybe they are beautiful.

Maybe they bring joy to others.

Any feature,

Characteristic or trait.

Just noticing.

And now we can take these qualities and apply it to yourself.

I am confident.

I am beautiful.

I bring joy to others.

Whatever the characteristics are,

Take a moment to apply them to yourself.

And notice how this feels.

Notice the sensations that they trigger that rises.

Because this is again our shadow.

Often the things that we admire most in others are the things that we fear in ourselves.

I know this may sound a bit silly but why do we simply not believe in our own greatness?

Why would we not consider our own worthiness,

Our own value,

Our own beauty?

So please let me remind you that you have the ability to have any of these qualities.

And you have more than you let yourself know.

So this Sagittarian full moon is eclipsed into darkness.

And we are shown her shadows.

So let's align with her here.

Let our shining lights just be hidden for a moment.

So we can take a closer look and discover what we have in our shadows.

Reveal your darkness so you can access and arouse any buried dreams or blurred visions.

And you can let your deepest desires be acknowledged,

Be seen and heard as you lovingly begin to integrate them into the very foundation of your true authentic self.

The original version of you,

Who you were meant to be.

Breathing gently.

Taking in beautiful,

Soothing,

Cleansing energies,

Breathing them in,

Feeling them fill you,

Filter through you.

Not just in the light spaces,

The easy spaces,

The familiar spaces.

Just let it wash all through you and seep into the darker spaces,

The hidden spaces.

And they just come up.

They come up in the wash.

And we don't need to make a judgment.

We don't need to over analyse.

Perhaps we need to forgive or offer ourselves some compassion.

But we can breathe them out.

We can let them go.

Full moon is the brightest night of the lunar cycle.

This light energises us and gives us the stamina needed to work on our deepest self.

Breathing her light,

Her love and guidance.

And observe the illumination of your shadows.

Just noticing anything that comes up into you,

Offering you the opportunity for greater understanding.

And you can progress even with complicated challenges.

Let the brilliance of this full moon wrap supportive energies around you like a cloak,

Protecting you,

Shielding you safely as you abandon old patterns.

Relief from old belief systems,

Letting go of self doubts.

Effortlessly cleaning out,

Making space for the new version of you.

Breathing with ease and grace.

No need for nostalgia.

Simply remain fluid and flowing with the process.

Continue to welcome any of the energies that you intentionally wish to attract.

As a human race,

We have collective shadows and as a culture,

We do need to work through these together.

So you may be influenced and you may be feeling these shadows reflected in yourself,

For we are all one.

Please know that as you begin to heal your relationship with your shadows,

You are indeed healing and inspiring all of us as you share your new light.

And you can rest in the knowledge that as the moon's eminent light is momentarily hidden,

She will also be revealed.

The light will come back and darkness will return and the cycles will continue.

So we do not have to fear any darkness and we do not have to rush towards the light.

We can rest in each moment calmly.

With acceptance,

Compassion and love and we can find peace.

Thank you so much for meditating with me.

I'd really love to hear your experience.

Please follow me to meditate again under the guiding influences of the new moon.

And of course the full moon once again.

I hope you have a magical day.

Or a beautiful night.

And if you are curious,

Ask before you go to sleep at night for your dreams to help reveal your shadows.

And just pay attention to whatever your subconscious mind reveals.

Thank you so very much.

Namaste.
