The following technique is a breathing technique that you can use throughout your contractions.
This technique is called the balloon technique.
And what this technique involves is using both your breath and also using visualization.
And visualization simply means using your imagination.
What this involves is imagining that you have a balloon in your belly.
And as you breathe in,
This balloon gets bigger and bigger.
And as you breathe out,
The balloon gets smaller.
So the idea is that you imagine that that breath is allowing that balloon to fill up with air.
And as you release your breath,
The balloon empties.
It can also be helpful to imagine the balloon is a particular colour.
The colour that you choose can be a colour that you find to be a comforting colour,
Or just a colour that you feel drawn to.
It's really important to practice your breathing technique as often as possible,
As this can help you to feel calm,
Relaxed and focused.
