The following technique is a breathing technique that you can use throughout your contractions.
And this technique is called the 1 to 10 technique.
And this involves using numbers and also using the breath.
So as you breathe in,
In your mind,
You count towards the number 10.
And as you breathe out,
In your mind,
You count back down from the number 10.
So breathing in,
1,
2,
3,
4,
5,
6,
7,
8,
9,
10.
And breathing out,
10,
9,
8,
7,
6,
5,
4,
3,
2,
1.
Now you might find that counting to 10 feels too much for you.
In my experience,
I can only get to the number 8.
So if you feel that you need to change the numbers,
That's absolutely fine to do.
You might have to change the numbers so that they feel much more comfortable for you.
But the idea is that you use these numbers and the breath as a focus.
And remember that it's really important to practice your breathing technique as often as you can.
Because this will really help to keep you calm,
Relaxed and focused.
