My name is Rachel Edge of Loving Wings Wellness.
This meditation is titled,
Be Here Now.
I wrote this when I was on vacation with my family and this was one morning right after sunrise,
And as I sat on the beach,
I just noticed this calm,
This presence,
All the way to my bones.
And I thought,
What a beautiful moment this is to hear the birds overhead,
The humming of the ocean,
Noticing the sunrise,
And why is it that it's so difficult for us to find these types of moments in our day-to-day lives?
So as you're listening,
Whether traveling somewhere,
Awakening to start your day,
Or ending your day,
Getting ready for bed,
See if you can allow yourself to notice the beauty in this present moment.
This world is a constant spiral of going and doing,
Achieving,
But let this be a moment for you to simply be.
Find a comfortable seat free of distraction,
Quiet space.
Begin by taking three deep,
Rounded breaths.
So inhaling through your nose beyond the throat and heart,
All the way down into the belly space,
Letting your lungs fill with air,
And then let it go.
Allow another deep breath in.
As you continue to breathe deeply,
Let your skin soften.
Let the muscles in your face relax,
Your brow,
Your cheeks,
Unclenching jaw,
Releasing tongue.
Let your shoulders fall away from your ears,
Spine grow long,
Waves rushing the shore in steady hum.
They rise and fall,
Mimicking my breath.
I sit lulled to stillness by the ocean's beating heart.
The clouds break,
Allowing the sun to reveal the blueness above.
Notice your breath,
The rise and fall of inhale to exhale.
Notice the space between.
As inhale deepens,
Feel air on skin.
As exhale arrives,
Let go to all that wants to stay.
Relax and let go.
Relax and let go.
As breathing moves deeply,
Slowly,
Heart's beat softens naturally.
The warring ocean within me becomes a soothing sea,
Peaceful.
Feel body beneath sink closer to the earth.
Feel body become weighted,
Heavy.
Crown extends towards sky.
Heart illuminates.
The warmth of infinite love opens my door and allows darkness to leave and surrender to light.
Pause.
Feel peace.
Feel the serene touch of this moment and all that it is,
All that it will ever be is here now.
Feel the gratitude touching your heart for this day.
Feel the promise you have been gifted in this sunrise.
Feel the peace within that comes from another sunset.
This gift of life,
Breath,
Love is so often taken for granted.
And yet when we sit and allow,
We find peace within and peace around.
Be love.
Be patient.
Be light.
Now another rounded breath in.
Let it go.
Feel the air on your skin.
Feel the softness of muscle to bone.
As you begin to invite life back into your body,
Be patient with yourself.
Live with ease.
Give yourself a moment,
Maybe even two,
To just notice and observe the calm and serene warmth enveloping you right now.
Go ahead and blink your eyes open if they were closed.
Just let your gaze be soft.
And as you begin to enter whatever it is that you're moving to next,
Move gently,
Slowly,
And gently.
