Hello,
Welcome to Loving Wings Wellness.
My name is Rachel Edge and I have been able to sneak away and find a quiet space,
Some time to just kind of sit and connect.
So I invite you to join me.
We are full throttle in the month of October and with that,
Where I live comes the beautiful changing of the seasons.
Nature is just really showing out right now.
So beautiful.
But with that comes some high energy,
High energy in the world around me.
And so I find myself needing space,
Needing solitude,
Needing moments where I can just drop in and find stillness.
When we allow ourselves these moments,
Great journeys are traveled.
So even though we may not be completing tasks or juggling all of the activities that are thrown at us,
We're able to connect and kind of direct that point A to point B in a way that is meaningful and with intent.
So if you are able,
Find a quiet space,
A comfortable seat.
And if you rather lie down,
I definitely invite you to do so.
This time can be spent seated,
Lying down,
Or you know,
Even if you are in the process of doing something like driving in a car or cooking dinner,
I invite you to breathe with me.
So let's begin by just arriving wherever we are.
Go ahead and take three deep,
Rounded breaths.
Breath in through nose.
Breath out.
Breath out.
Breath in.
Maybe begin to drop your gaze or close your eyes.
And if your body were talking to you,
If your body were to speak,
What would it say?
So inhaling,
I hear.
I hear you right now.
So as you continue these deep,
Rounded breaths,
Listening to your body,
Can you in this moment feel grounded?
Can you feel the connection of your body to the earth?
Its solid stability beneath you,
Holding you,
Unwavering.
Can you notice these deep,
Rounded breaths really intently?
You see them as the wind,
The air touching your skin,
Yet also providing a life force within you.
With each exhale,
If seated or lying down,
Can you release deeper?
And if in motion in some way,
Can you move slowly,
Allowing your breath to mirror your movements?
Feel this rhythm,
The rhythm of nature as slowly as the animals move in the forest,
As softly as they do against the ground,
As peacefully as water trickling downstream.
Can this rhythm of nature be mirrored in you?
A poem by Mary Oliver,
Today.
Today I'm flying low and I'm not saying a word.
I'm letting all the voodoos of ambition sleep.
The world goes on as it must,
The bees in the garden rumbling a little,
The fish leaping,
The gnats getting eaten,
And so forth.
But I'm taking the day off,
Quiet as a feather.
I hardly move,
Though really I'm traveling a terrific distance.
Stillness,
One of the doors into the temple.
Breath in,
Breath out.
Continuing to breathe these deep,
Rounded breaths,
Feeling the hum of your heart's beat,
Dancing in sync with your life force.
I am connected to the earth.
I am connected to the earth.
I am connected to the earth.
Feeling your spine grow a little longer,
So maybe stretching on the floor a bit more ever so subtly.
Maybe spine lengthens in your seat.
I am connected to the divine.
I am connected to the divine.
I am connected to the divine.
Taking both hands and placing them onto your heart space.
I am connected to all living beings.
I am connected to all living beings.
I am connected to all living beings.
As you move through the rest of your day and away from this meditation time,
Feel this rhythm.
Notice the peace,
The calm,
And this gentle connection of your breath.
Where your body speak,
Move slowly.
Breathe deeply.
And until we meet again,
Go in peace and love.
