You you So just get yourself into a nice comfortable position either sitting or lying down Settle yourself in And adjust your position into the most comfortable position for you And feel yourself sinking down into the surface that's supporting you And now I invite you to take some really nice slow deep breaths In through the nose and out through the mouth Really focusing on the out breath so that you feel as though you're really emptying your lungs You're breathing in Holding and then breathing out with a sigh Letting go of anything that no longer serves you in this moment And while you're relaxing there now focusing on your breathing I'd like you to just bring your attention to the rise and fall of your chest Just focusing on that for a short space of time Remembering that slowing our breathing down in this way and adopting a soothing breathing rhythm releases hormones into our brain that start to help to relax us and calm down any stress and anxiety that may have been there before And bringing your attention back now to your body being supported by the surface beneath you Noticing where your body is touching the surface that you're resting on and feeling the sensations of that support While you're relaxing there now allow your mind to go wherever it wants to go and observe those thoughts remembering we have no control over those thoughts coming in they're always automatic Just observe them and watch them pass through like words on a screen Or like boats on a lake some are going faster and some slower Some big ones and small ones and you're observing those thoughts from afar not getting tangled up with them you're just watching what happens just allowing your mind to go where it wants to go As you feel your body starting to relax more and more you might notice that your mind starts to slow down the thoughts might start to slow down too You bring your attention now to the top of your head and imagine that there's a white light or an energy shining down onto the top of your head You can feel it relaxing you It's like waves of white smoke or mist cascading down over your forehead and your temples and your scalp starting to relax every muscle Your eyes seem to be becoming more and more relaxed Your jaw relaxed,
Your mouth,
Your neck and shoulders and your chest cascading all the way down your body This mist,
This energy is penetrating every muscle,
Every fiber,
Every pore,
You start to notice maybe feeling heavier or lighter,
More and more relaxed Your stomach and your spine,
Your pelvis,
Your hips,
Your bottom and your thighs knees and shins and calves and ankles,
Your heels,
Your feet and your toes your legs and your arms,
Your hands and your feet have become really heavy and relaxed and while you feel relaxed in this way,
This is a perfect opportunity now for you to take yourself somewhere in your imagination that is a perfect place for you So I invite you now to imagine yourself walking along a path with flowers and shrubs and trees on either side of this path You feel really relaxed and safe You can feel the ground beneath your feet It feels soft and warm It could be grass or sand or air or leaves You notice the colors all around you Vibrant colors of flowers Variants of green all around You notice the trees and the grasses and the shrubs moving gently in the breeze taking in the ambiance of this wonderful place You feel the gentle breeze blowing against your face as you turn your face up towards the sunlight which is just how you like it You feel free and easy in what you're wearing and you seem to be drifting along this pathway You can smell the flowers and the shrubs They might be familiar smells or they might be new smells but you notice that these smells seem to relax you more than ever before You bring a gentle smile to your face feeling so euphoric and tranquil in this place As you continue you look above you and you see the beautiful blue sky and the occasional white fluffy cloud and then you look into the distance and you can see an archway and this archway seems to be inviting you to step through it As you get closer you notice that it's very unique and all around it seems to be hazy shimmering just like the sunshine it makes our images hazy sometimes and you realize that this archway is a step through a portal and it feels just right to be stepping through this portal and as you approach the desire to walk through this archway this portal grows stronger and stronger you feel safer than you've ever felt before and here you are now stepping through and you're through to the other side this place is fantastic it's a place made for you by your own subconscious mind everything there pleases you and I can only imagine what you're seeing it could be a tropical island or a beach a secret garden or a wonderful room with a roaring fire or a room filled with flowers and French doors opening onto a beautiful garden or a meadow filled with beautiful wild flowers everything that you see pleases you you feel so calm and tranquil and safe here the smells relax you and you can hear the sounds of birds in the distance and the sound of gentle trickling water in a stream nearby just take in everything you can see and hear and feel in this place as you glide around you feel as though you're in touch with that deep part of yourself your inner wisdom that part of you that knows everything about you and it knows why you feel the way you feel why you think what you think and while you're here you can be more in touch with that part of you than ever before as you're exploring this place you come across a chair the most relaxing and comfortable chair you've ever seen that seems to be inviting you to sit in it you settle down into this chair and feel yourself sinking down and down into the deep relaxing foam that seems to support you like nothing ever has before sinking into it almost like you're sinking into a cloud you lean back and look up at the sky and as you look up you can sense this wise part of you the inner part of you looking back at you with a really compassionate smile and this is where you can let go of anything that's been troubling you you can feel it leaving your body right now from your chest or your stomach or your head almost like this wise part of you or this wise being above you is taking it from you to alleviate your anxiety and fears you can feel it leaving your body your mind they smile back at you with a knowing smile saying in this moment all is okay all is going to be okay right here right now you're feeling calm and safe and tranquil and somehow that wise part of you will be staying with you and giving you the answers to some questions that you might have when you've finished this meditation and a wise part of you or this wise being is nodding goodbye now and you smile a knowing smile and thank them for the gift they've given you here today in this chair in this place created just for you you feel refreshed revived and enlightened ready to face anything that life puts in your path as you return from this meditation through your place noticing again everything that you can see that pleases you how you feel here and what you can hear the birds and the gentle trickling stream the breeze through the trees and the grasses the breeze touching your face you walk back through the archway knowing that you can come back here whenever you want to at any time it's always there waiting for you walking along the path the smile and a strong sense of compassion in your heart compassion towards yourself and others forgiveness towards yourself and others and a renewed energy to face what life puts in your path so now bring yourself back into the room and feel yourself supported by the surface beneath you feel your toes and your fingers just give them a little wiggle take a really deep breath and as you breathe out open your eyes namaste
