Good morning.
You are so welcome here.
Sometimes we awaken with the weight of the day already swirling in our minds.
This is a short meditation to help you greet the day and set an intention.
Know that your intention is the very first step to taking action,
And the path to your intention may not travel in a straight line.
Are you ready?
I invite you to take a long,
Deep breath—the longest breath that you've taken since you first opened your eyes.
That's it.
Smooth and even.
Now,
Gently let the breath go.
What is your intention for today?
Is it perhaps to show kindness,
To be forgiving,
Or to take each moment as it comes?
Or do you have something in mind to be started,
Progressed,
Or completed?
Let us hold your intention in mind for a moment.
Allow it to take shape.
Draw the edges in your mind's eye,
Colouring the space.
Now,
Let's give attention to what might get in the way of your intention today.
Can you anticipate what might happen?
Can you consider a way to accept or accommodate a way around or through this?
Let's take three rounds of breath together.
You may choose to close your eyes or soften your gaze for this part.
Draw each breath in to the count of four.
In through the nose.
Two,
Three,
Four.
Out through the nose.
Two,
Three,
Four.
Let us take one final deep breath together.
No counting.
Just as it is.
Open your eyes if you have them closed.
Look around you.
Take in the sights,
The smells,
And the sensations of your physical space.
On with your day.
