Hello,

You are so welcome here.

This string of beads affirmation practice is for when you feel overwhelmed or without clarity to move forward.

For when you've set an intention to take action but are stuck or all your tasks and to-dos feel insurmountable.

Let us work together now to allow the time and space to work this through.

Within some spiritual practices,

The act of prayer uses a string of beads or a garland as a tangible tool to bring focus and attention.

For example,

The rosary string or mala beads.

Mala beads or prayer beads are a string of beads used as a meditation tool to cultivate awareness.

They have been used in Hindu chanting practices for thousands of years and in Tibetan Buddhism for even longer.

The beads are used by practitioners to help them stay focused as they recite mantras or chants.

You could use a real string for this practice,

However,

I'm going to use my imagination to visualize these in my mind's eye.

First,

Let us bring awareness to the intention of taking this time to practice together and ground into the space that we are in.

Let us take three deep breaths together.

Join me in a short body sensing practice.

Close your eyes if you are comfortable doing so or soften your gaze.

Sense where you are in the physical space that you're in,

Where you are in relation to other objects or items in the room.

Feel into your body,

Feeling the contact with the chair or floor or wherever you're sitting.

If your feet are on the floor,

Feel the contact between your feet and the ground.

Let us scan through the body,

Starting at the lower legs,

Upper legs,

Mid-body,

Back,

Shoulders,

Arms,

Head,

The whole body.

Feeling into the whole body here,

Doing this practice together.

Bring to mind a string of beads.

It could be a favourite necklace,

It could be a set of prayer beads,

Or even a sweetie necklace that we sometimes get in the candy shop.

There is no right or wrong,

However they appear to you.

We will use this image to help reframe taking action to move forward positively.

Imagine you are making a string of beads.

It is a work in progress,

There is no deadline to complete this craft,

No specified time to tie the string.

You have unlimited string and unlimited beads.

This is how it is.

Beside you is the supply of beads for you to thread.

Stretching behind you are the threaded beads that symbolise all the actions you have ever taken.

Every single one.

Every action from getting out of bed in the morning,

To cleaning your teeth,

From talking to a colleague,

Booking an appointment,

To listening to a friend in need,

And nursing a loved one,

Sweeping leaves in the yard,

Packing the groceries,

Having a difficult conversation,

Leaving a relationship.

There is no difference in value of any of the beads on your string.

They are all the same size,

They are all of the same value.

You are the one who puts the next bead on your string.

You are the only one who does this.

So you get to set the worth of each bead.

Each further bead you thread onto the string is an action,

And you can set it so that every action has the same value.

This is how you can evaluate and give value to what you do.

Looking at yourself in terms of the habits with which you take action.

You keep going,

Moving forward with action,

Irrelevant of whether it's a success or a failure.

It is forward momentum,

It is the next action.

You are the one that puts the next bead on the string.

That's it.

I'm going to repeat an affirmation seven times.

You're invited to join me in repeating this affirmation to complete this practice.

If you can.

Saying it out loud is ideal.

If you can't do this,

Then form the words in your mind.

I am the one who puts the next bead on the string.

Each bead I thread onto the string is an action.

Every action has the same value.

I give value to what I do.

I look at myself in terms of the habits with which I take action.

I keep going,

Moving forward,

Regardless of whether it's a success or failure.

I choose to put the next bead on the string.

Coming back now to the breath.

Taking a slow,

Deep breath in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Refocusing on the space that you are in.

Opening your eyes if they are closed.

Looking around.

Coming back to your day.

Thank you for joining me.

Www.

Mooji.

Amazing! I loved that. The affirmation invited me into deep introspection and philosophical thought. I will repeat this. Thank you.
