Welcome and prepare to meet your future enlightened self in this meditation.
Before we get started,
Make sure you're comfortable.
Find your meditation posture.
Perhaps you're sitting up on a cushion,
In a chair,
Or maybe laying down.
Take a moment to settle your body here.
Feel the length of your spine.
Feel your shoulders softening,
The muscles in your face relaxing.
And then if they're not already,
You can go ahead and flutter your eyes closed.
Arrive with yourself here.
Become aware of your breath.
Notice as the breath comes in through the nose.
Notice as the breath leaves back out through the nostrils,
Through the nose.
Find your awareness of your own breath and just be with that awareness.
Keeping this awareness,
This sense of presence,
Will begin to travel within our mind's eye.
Move through some visualizations.
First,
Imagine that you are sitting,
Meditating in your own version of a perfect paradise.
Maybe this is somewhere you've been before,
A special place,
A comforting place,
Or maybe something out of your wildest dreams.
Imagine that you are meditating there and start to create the scene around you.
See the colors,
The textures.
Maybe feel the temperature of the air or a breeze.
You can use your imagination here and really make it as beautiful,
As creative as you can.
Once you have the scene,
The setting,
Prepared,
You can invite a special guest to join you here.
Invite your future enlightened self to join you here.
A version of yourself that has already figured everything out that you're working on now.
You can start to see the figure of your future self start to emerge out of the distance and walk towards you.
See the shape of their body,
See the way they walk.
And as they get closer,
You can start to see more of their being,
What they look like,
What they're wearing.
Fill in all of these details.
And then they come right up to where you are and sit directly in front of you.
See their face,
Their eyes.
See how happy they are to be here with you right now.
Take in their presence.
And as a gesture of your gratitude,
Give them something,
An offering,
A gift,
Something that they would enjoy.
Maybe hand them a single flower,
A glass of water,
Their favorite food,
Whatever you like here.
See them receive this offering.
And now start to look more closely at this future version of yourself,
Looking at the way they look,
Their presence.
But go beyond that and see all of the good qualities that they embody.
You can name each quality that you see in them to yourself.
Maybe you see love,
Wisdom,
Whatever it may be,
Take the time to notice,
Appreciate each quality.
Now that you have the presence of your future self here,
You can take this time to share with them one challenge that you're facing in your life right now.
Maybe a difficult situation,
A doubt,
Confusion.
Whatever it is,
You can share it with your future self.
As you share this challenge or obstacle,
You see that your future self is beyond that challenge.
They have made it to the other side.
They have gotten through this exact moment that you're in right now.
You can also see that whatever you're going through right now actually contributed to where your future self ended up,
Contributed to all of the qualities they now possess.
You start to feel a comfort or a relief that this future self understands they've been through this.
They see where you are.
They remember it.
Now you can ask for any advice or guidance that this being may have for you.
And you don't need to force any answer here.
You can take some time to simply listen and see if anything comes up,
If anything arises from a deeper place.
Simply listen here.
Ask your future self if they'll stay with you.
You don't want them to leave.
You want to keep their insight and their wisdom with you always.
Your future self happily agrees to stay and you can start to see them shrink down to the size of a tiny pearl in front of you.
They start to float up to the crown of your head where they nestle in.
They transform into a pure white light of energy that flows down through your spine and then rest right in the center of your heart.
Feel their wisdom there or maybe even just a spark of wisdom that you found.
Feel them in your heart.
Take some deep breaths into your heart,
Gently bringing yourself back to the body,
Back to the rhythm of your breath.
Before you come out of the meditation,
Take the time to thank yourself for moving your mind in this way,
For showing up for yourself.
You can dedicate this practice to someone else in your life that could benefit from it.
Imagine them receiving whatever wisdom you just received.
Whenever you're ready,
You can blink your eyes open,
Come back to the space that you're in,
Knowing that you can return to that perfect paradise inside of yourself whenever you want,
Whenever you need.
