Are some parts tense?
Are you holding on to things in your body?
Stress,
Maybe?
Maybe you tense up your shoulders without you noticing it.
Maybe you inadvertently clench your jaw.
It's time for your body to let go of it all,
To fully relax and surrender to the night when nothing else has to happen.
No more pressure,
No more applications,
Nothing more to do.
Just enjoy this moment for yourself.
Focus on your feet.
Curl your toes and relax them.
Now imagine your calves softening,
Relaxing.
Feel them lay on the mattress.
Now tense up your upper legs a little tighter and release.
Relax your legs.
Feel how heavy they are.
They're sinking into the mattress.
Feel how your legs feel on the mattress.
Do you feel the blanket on you?
Just register and feel how warm you are.
Really sense it.
Tense your abs.
Tighten them as much as you can and release.
Soften your stomach.
Feel the relaxation flow through it.
Clench both your hands tightly into a fist.
Tighten them.
Now tighten the muscles in your arms with them.
Hold them tight.
Hold them tight and let them go.
Relax your arms fully.
Feel the heaviness in them.
Feel the relaxation flow into your shoulders.
Relax the muscles in your shoulders.
Release the tension you may have carried in them from today.
Let it all go.
Your shoulders lay heavy on the mattress.
Relax your neck.
Relax your jaw.
Release the tension in your jaw.
Let your tongue rest gently in the bottom of your mouth.
Your head feels comfortable on your pillow.
Feel the contours of the pillow embrace your head.
Your body has carried you all day.
Moved you.
It has given you a lot today.
It's time for your body to relax now.
All your muscles have released.
They are loose,
Heavy and have let go of the day.
Let your muscles rest and recharge for tomorrow.
