Working with difficulty meditation is introduced at session 5 of our Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy courses. It is assumed the listener has familiarity with the body and breath based practices of the body scan and mindful breathing practice as these earlier practices build the foundations upon which the working with difficulty practice requires. Working with difficulty is a very helpful way of working in the present with body sensations when there are difficulties in your life. This is an alternative approach to over-thinking and worrying about your problems and difficulties.
