Hey,

Darling,

I'm so glad you're here.

Yeah,

You,

Extra special you.

I know you're here because you're feeling a certain way,

And I felt that same way too,

As have about everybody else on the planet,

But that's why I came here to record this meditation to remind you how phenomenal you are.

You see,

This being human is a guest house.

Every morning,

A new arrival,

A joy,

A depression,

A meanness,

Some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.

That's the first line to one of my favorite poems by my favorite poet,

Rumi.

That poem was written in the 13th century.

It's called The Guest House.

I hope you will check out the poet Rumi.

He's amazing and timeless.

So let's begin.

Just take a deep breath in and exhale,

Breathe out.

Feel yourself arriving here to this moment,

Just wanting,

Intending to settle down,

To come into your body.

I oftentimes say embody your body with your breath.

Breathing in,

Breathing out,

Breathing in,

Breathing out.

You already feel calmer and more connected to your own inner peace and less of the noise that goes on outside.

This is your own breath.

It's one of the greatest gifts that you have to use at your disposal.

I want to remind you that you're so much more than your thoughts and more than what society says you should be and more than your worries or judgments.

You are a living miracle.

And today we're going to connect with the incredible magic of your body.

The parts of you that are working for you every moment without you even having to think about it.

Start by focusing on your breath.

Notice how it flows in and out effortlessly.

You don't have to remind yourself to breathe,

Of course.

It just happens.

Like a quiet wave,

20,

000 times a day,

Just keeping you alive.

Your lungs expand.

They take in oxygen and send it into your blood.

Feel gratitude for this constant rhythm of life inside of you and your ability to instantly connect to it 20,

000 times a day.

Now shift your awareness to your heart.

Place your hand gently over it if that feels comfortable.

Feel its steady beat.

Your heart has been working for you since you were in your mama's tummy,

Pumping blood to every corner of your body,

Carrying nutrients and oxygen to keep you alive.

And you don't even have to ask it to do this.

It just knows what to do and does so about 100,

000 beats a day.

So take a moment to thank your heart for its loyalty and strength.

Next,

Bring your awareness to your skin.

Connect with how incredible it is.

It is your largest organ,

Covering about 22 square feet of your body.

And it weighs about 10 pounds.

Your skin is like a magical shield,

Protecting you,

Holding you together,

And helping you sense the world around you.

It's so smart that it knows how to renew itself,

Shedding about 35,

000 dead cells every minute.

In some places,

Like your eyelids,

The skin is thin and delicate,

While in others,

Like the soles of your feet,

It's thick and strong.

Your skin keeps you safe from harm,

Heals itself when you're hurt,

And helps regulate your temperature,

All without you having to think about it.

Let yourself marvel at how this amazing organ works tirelessly to protect you and support you every moment of your life.

Now bring your awareness to the incredible power of your hormones.

Hormones are chemical messengers in your body,

Constantly changing and evolving as you grow.

During your teenage years,

Your hormones are especially active,

Guiding your body through transformation and shaping how you feel and experience the world.

Sometimes these changes can make you feel energized and excited,

While other times they might leave you feeling overwhelmed or frustrated or unsure.

It's important to know that these feelings are all normal.

Your body is doing its job to help you grow into this amazing person that you are becoming.

Your hormones are like a team working behind the scenes,

Helping you develop strength,

Maturity,

And even deeper emotional awareness.

So trust this process.

It's all part of the magic of growing up.

Finally,

Turn your attention to your brain and your nervous system.

Right now,

Your brain is helping you listen to my voice,

Process these words,

And send signals to your body without you even needing to figure it out.

Your brain alone contains about 86 billion neurons,

Which are specialized cells constantly communicating with one another to help you think,

Feel,

And move.

These nerve impulses travel at lightning fast speeds,

Up to 250 miles per hour,

Which allow you to react in an instant,

Like when you pull your hand away from something hot.

Your nervous system is an incredible communication network,

Working tirelessly to keep you safe,

Aware,

And connected to the world around you.

Now see,

Feel,

Or sense that your whole body is glowing with a soft light.

This light represents the magic of your body's intelligence.

It flows through you like a river,

Connecting your breath,

Your heart,

Your skin,

Your hormones,

Your brain,

And everything in between.

Picture each part of your body as a friend working for you.

Your legs carry you.

Your arms reach for what you need.

Your eyes see beauty.

Your ears listen to music and laughter.

Your body is your partner.

It's here to help you live and grow.

Take a moment to simply feel the miracle of being alive.

You are not just your appearance,

Your grades,

Or your achievements.

You are in living,

Breathing wonder.

No one else in this world has your exact body,

Your exact combination of strengths,

Dreams,

And experiences.

Know that when you feel confused or judgmental,

Those thoughts are like clouds.

They pass.

But your body is always here,

Offering you the chance to heal,

To grow,

And to experience life fully.

Take a deep breath in,

And let it out with a soft sigh.

Wiggle your fingers and toes,

And gently come back to the space around you.

When you're ready,

Open your eyes.

Carry this feeling of gratitude and wonder with you.

Remember,

Your body is your home,

Your friend,

Your peace,

Your miracle.

Be kind to it because it is always working for you.

You are amazing just exactly as you are.
