Hello,

And welcome.

My name is Libby Lucier,

And I'll be your guide for this reflection and meditation time.

Opportunities to give and connect are happening all around us every day.

Sometimes we miss them,

Because they look so ordinary.

Standing in line at the coffee shop,

Walking through the grocery store,

Or even just running errands.

For me,

One way I've learned to honor life is by offering kindness to others.

Sometimes it's giving my time,

Or a small gift.

And sometimes it's just a word of encouragement.

One year for my birthday,

I even chose to give to a charitable organization instead of receiving gifts.

And it was very meaningful.

I'm not asking you to donate or to choose a charity today.

What I'd love for you is to simply imagine,

How might I give in small ways,

Right where I am?

Maybe it's paying for the person behind you in line,

Or bringing a meal to someone who's grieving.

Maybe it's calling a friend you haven't spoken to in a while.

Or maybe it's as simple as telling someone you love them.

These gestures don't just bless others.

They open your heart.

And they help us remember that every act of kindness adds to the light of the world.

And so now I will guide you on a journey of compassion for yourself and for the planet.

And we begin.

I invite you to close your eyes.

Find a relaxing position.

And take a slow,

Deep breath in.

Hold gently for a moment.

And exhale,

Letting your whole body soften.

Allow your shoulders to release.

Your jaw to relax.

Your mind to become calm.

And your heart to gently open.

With each breath,

Feel yourself arriving more fully in this moment.

Inhale peace.

And exhale tension.

Inhale light.

And exhale everything you no longer need.

As you settle,

Bring your awareness to the many opportunities for kindness that surround you each day.

They may appear in simple moments while waiting in line at the grocery store,

Offering a smile to a stranger,

Or listening with presence to someone who just needs to be heard.

Even the smallest gestures carry a ripple of light.

Now take another slow breath in.

And release.

And allow yourself to notice how kindness weaves through the ordinary.

Now in this stillness,

Picture one simple act of kindness.

Maybe you're offering to pay for someone's coffee or tea.

Maybe you're preparing a comforting meal for a friend.

Or maybe you're reaching out to connect with someone that you've been missing.

See yourself offering this kindness.

Noticing the details,

The warmth in your voice,

The expression on their face,

The energy shared between you.

Allow yourself to feel how love flows outward,

And how it flows back to you.

Every act of love expands your light,

And the light of the world.

And once again,

Breathe in peace.

And exhale love.

Breathe in compassion.

And exhale kindness.

Breathe in light.

And exhale light.

Now allow your heart to rest in this awareness.

I am both giver and receiver of kindness.

Allow these words to sink in as if they are spoken from the deepest part of your soul.

And now take a moment to bring someone to mind who you know might need love or support.

See their face clearly in your imagination.

And with each inhale,

Breathe in love.

And with each exhale,

Send your love out to them.

Like a wave of light reaching across distance and time.

And trust that they receive it in exactly the way they need.

Rest now in gratitude.

Gratitude for your breath.

Gratitude for your body.

Gratitude for your ability to give.

And gratitude for the countless ways that love moves through your life.

And just know that by honoring these moments of kindness,

You're adding to the light of the world.

And now take one more deep,

Nourishing breath in.

And gently exhale.

Begin to bring your awareness back to your body.

Notice your feet,

Your hands,

And your heartbeat.

And when you're ready,

You may slowly open your eyes.

And now receive this blessing.

As you return back.

May your heart remain open.

Your presence be light.

And your kindness ripple far beyond what you can see.
