Tapas, the yogic principle of self-discipline and inner fire, is not about harshness or rigidity—it’s about devotion to growth, even when it’s uncomfortable. This spoken-word poem is an ode to that quiet flame within: the steady effort, the sacred commitment, and the daily acts of courage that slowly shape us from the inside out. "The Fire That Stays" invites you to reconnect with your inner strength—not through force, but through conscious choice and presence. Whether you’re on a spiritual path, navigating personal transformation, or simply seeking inspiration, let this poem remind you that the most powerful fires are the ones that stay lit—not with noise, but with purpose. Perfect as a companion to meditation, journaling, or contemplative rest.

A poem on the theme of Tapas and the poem is titled The Fire That Stays.

The Fire That Stays There is a fire not born of rage but carved in stillness page by page.

It does not scream,

It does not flare,

It burns beneath the breath of care.

No torch is needed for this flame,

It grows each time you rise again.

When you choose the path not paved in ease,

When you bow and still do not appease,

It flickers in the early dawn when sleep still clings but you press on.

It glows when silence asks you stay,

When fear says run but you obey.

It lives in steps the world won't see,

In effort made when you could flee.

It's in the word you speak with grace,

The pause you take,

The slowed down pace.

Tapas is the heat that purifies,

That peels illusion from the eyes.

Not for show,

Not for applause,

But for your soul,

Your truth,

Your cause.

It does not shout but whispers dry,

It doesn't break,

It asks why not.

And when the days feel long and cold,

It's in the ember you still hold.

So when the winds of doubt appear and shadows press from front and rear,

Return to where your fire is laid,

The quiet flame that does not fade.

Thank you for listening.
