The pursuit of happiness has been linked to everything from finding daily balance, self-growth and even the meaning of life. But is being happy the goal? Does happiness provide what you are really looking for? One thing that's wrong with the philosophy of pursuing happiness is that it traps one in the cycle of the pursuit. Happiness tends to be more superficial, fleeting, and circumstantial, depending on experience or reward. Pursuing happiness is akin to seeking relief. But relief is not resolution, and there is something much deeper to attain than a feeling of happiness, and that is joy.
