Welcome to your meditation.
Go ahead and find a comfortable place to relax.
Perhaps on this meditation you want to lie down.
Let it be on a comfortable surface or even the floor,
But a place where your full body can stretch out and your legs can open naturally and you can rest your hands and your arms right beside your body with palms facing up.
Make any adjustments to your neck,
To your clothes.
Just come to a place of complete comfort and stillness.
Go ahead and close your eyes,
Bring your lips together.
Take one deep long inhale,
Let your belly expand and as you exhale your belly retracts and all of the air flows out of your body.
Do this one more time and if you can allow the exhale to come with a sigh or an audible sound moving energy up and out of your body.
And with each breath your body relaxes a little deeper,
Surrendering the weight of it to the bed or the couch or the floor.
Becoming aware of your body lying there and also aware of your conscious mind,
The part of you that's staying active and in control of this moment of your life.
On your next inhale imagine that conscious part of you separating and lifting up out of the physical body.
Imagine yourself floating just above as your body becomes heavier and rests even deeper.
Your breath is automatic and it's slow.
And the feeling of freedom and wholeness overtakes your conscious mind.
The freedom to explore and expand,
To not be trapped in the limitations of the body but to go beyond that.
As you inhale we allow that spirit connected to the conscious mind to drift up and float.
Imagine if you could fly around your room or leave the building but still observing where your body is resting.
Allowing yourself to travel in a different dimension,
Going wherever you want to go.
Realizing you can safely come back at any moment and reconnect with your body.
Sometimes it feels nice to imagine rising higher,
Getting space from the dense material world as if you were flying like a bird around the trees,
Over the waterways,
Landing and perching on anything you choose to stop and observe the nature,
The animals,
The pace of life and all of its participants.
Sometimes you just want to soar around feeling free,
Traveling to specific locations.
Let yourself do that now,
Taking yourself on a mini adventure,
Flitting about with no care,
With no restrictions.
Perhaps you'd even like to travel to different dimensions and visit with people who have passed over.
Where does that place look like for you?
Or maybe you go to a location and call those people in whom you love.
You can practice that now,
You're free.
For the next few breaths,
We're going to lie here and let the body rest completely.
We allow our minds to go on this special adventure wherever you want to go.
If you start judging or overthinking,
Just bring yourself back to the image of flying free and soaring through the air like a bird.
There's no judgment here.
If you're tired,
Perhaps you want to go land on a branch and just sit.
That's okay too.
Keep your breath slow.
Keep it steady.
Just notice what you see.
Each breath,
Your body gets even more relaxed,
Fully surrendering now to the earth,
Restoring to a good little thing.
On your next inhale,
Just notice where the freedom has taken you,
The journey of your conscious mind.
Notice any symbols or colors or scenery.
Notice if there's any people that have come in to your vision or to meet you where you're traveling.
When there's no effort needed,
You may soar and go wherever you choose with just the thought of the mind taking you there quickly and easily.
On your next inhale,
Becoming aware of the return back to the physical self.
And on the journey back,
Taking your time and that freedom of space in the conscious mind,
The spirit traveling about,
Flying here and there and taking it all in the fresh air,
The new scenes,
The visions,
The smells,
The absolute absorption of life and its fullness that goes on outside of us at every moment.
See what you can see and begin journeying back to the location where your physical body is resting,
Taking a few breaths to get there.
When you arrive,
Imagine hovering over your body,
Noticing its beauty,
Its strength.
On your next inhale,
Imagine that conscious mind and spirit self reentering the physical body.
Embodying the space,
This denser energy,
Reconnecting with your feet,
Your calves,
Your thighs.
Feeling your back and your chest and the breath as it comes in,
Wiggling your fingers,
Perhaps moving your head side to side.
Feeling the sounds around you and your space,
Maybe even using your hands to physically touch your own arms and your legs and your stomach.
If you'd like to continue resting here,
You may.
If you'd like to practice letting yourself explore and travel,
You may.
Otherwise,
Whenever you're ready or on your next inhale,
You can gently open your eyes,
Come back to the now,
Take a deep inhale in and reengage with this moment.
